For this twenty-third episode of Polychrome Radio, we have the honor of hosting Bristol’s very own Farrell in our collection of recordings. Chris has been instrumental in shaping the port city sound through Idle Hands label and legendary record store, providing a unanimously respected and influential platform to Bristol’s underground electronic music scene, now very well represented on the global stage. 

The multiple crisis that the UK independent record industry faces opened the door to doubt, but also to re-invention. Chris Farrell’s resilience, incredible drive, resilience, vision and artist discovery and music selection talents are his best assets, and he has been making use of them over the past months. With a new record label ‘Devil’s Work’ (whose first release is a must-listen) and remarked DJ performances at @loveintfestival and @houghtonfestival , Chris Farrell has been opening new avenues and expressing his creativity in novel ways.

This podcast is a perfect reflection of it. Seamlessly flowing through dub bass lines, percussive rhythms, deep & hypnotic techno and UK flavored tech house, it is a masterclass where the focus is placed on a progressive dancefloor experience and musical storytelling. And one thing is sure, the beautiful story that he is still writing leads to the dance floor. Enjoy!

Leading the Nightlife Care Network - a support platform for our nights - she offers us her deep nightlife expertise, inspiring empathy and friendship, making our practice grow on and off the dance floor. Because it is there that her research in the night starts, as a dancer. One that fully experiences music, soaking in the energies and sounds, while defining her own.

Exploring bass frequencies and UK influenced club music, ISA W perfectly paces the rhythm and is open to merging cultures through sounds. After recording a beautiful episode of RPU’s Aquatic Gardens and blessing  the Surface Massief night at Noord Space , Isabel is taking the reins of Polychrome Radio for an hour through her collection, and we are honored.

It’s refreshing to feel such care and vision for music and the cultures that surround it. We first discovered @Lula_Luna as an artist through her listening selections—whether played on radio shows or released on her own SoundCloud.

A certain sensitivity shines through her sets. Her selections spark the imagination and inspire new flows. From ambient escapes to dub-infused electronics, there’s a grounding element that ties her sound together—understated yet powerful.

As part of the Possibilities Open Studio crew, Lou has been exploring her creative self by curating events that move the needle, while researching music aesthetics and experiences. Alongside this beautiful cover shot by Mark Loopstra, she shared with us a few nature photographs taken in Gran Canaria. A soft visual reminder that sounds require space and time.

Tokyo based producer, DJ, synthesiser and keyboard player @sapphire-slows has been seducing the senses since 2011 with peculiar tunes that show her deep love for slow-mo grooves, stoned chants and delicate melodic atmospheres.

To date, she has released one album and three EP's on labels such as mythical L.A. based addresses, Not Not Fun and 100% Silk, as well as Tokyo based Big Love Records.

For the Edwin Music Channel, Sapphire Slows has put together a mix jam-packed with shadowy sound textures, mazy rhythms, freak-out jazz situations and opaque bubbling club motifs.
