Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more. Brandon Vanno has been an avid and uncompromising electronic music enthusiast since the mid-nineties. Having listened to many forms of music prior to age 21, he always felt he was missing something. Upon relocating to Detroit in 1996, Brandon found what he was looking for. Electronic music gave him a since of identity.... and ignited a life long passion unlike anything he had experienced before. It wasn’t by chance that he came to Detroit to explore a new life... it was fate.

Like many in the 90’s scene, Brandon first went the wrong way. Unable to separate the music from the scene’s illicit substances... he almost died by 2002. From there he underwent intensive mental and neurological rehabilitation for well over a year. “The music didn’t almost kill me, my terrible choices did” says Brandon. Embarking on a journey of recovery, Brandon’s love for the music only intensified. Making the separation now was a life or death decision.

After some years, Brandon established a successful graphic design business. Having always been a creative in one way or another, this was one of his good decisions. This endeavor set the stage for his role of Chief Branding Officer on his label MINTEC. 

Now is the time for his full creative aptitude to come alive. With his unique experiences and a new found since of maturity Brandon has been reborn as an unparalleled producer and dj... coming to you from an all music and no bullshit perspective. “I’ve never just listened to the music, I’ve always studied it” Brandon says. Moving from analog turntables directly to the latest in today's digital dj software in 2010, Brandon is catching ears and turning heads throughout the global electronic music community.

Waar Nokturné komt ontstaat complete chaos. Chaos zoals die soms fijn kan zijn. De muziek knalt uit de speakers, de mensen zijn in beweging en de sfeer is grandioos. Nokturné staat voor kwalitatief hoogwaardige Housemuziek gecombineerd met een aangename setting waarbij de ‘ervaring centraal’ staat. Als collectief probeert Nokturné te blijven verrassen door interessante boekingen neer te zetten, verder te denken dan de conventionele ideeën over uitgaan en altijd oog te hebben voor vernieuwing. 

Wat ooit begon met feestjes in de woonkamer is in enkele jaren uitgegroeid tot een gevestigd concept in het Leeuwarder nachtleven. Door samenwerkingen aan te gaan met andere organisaties in de Friese hoofdstad, en ver daar buiten, probeert Nokturné een fris geluid te bieden aan hen die op zoek zijn naar verandering. 

Achter het collectief zit een groep jonge enthousiastelingen met een onuitputtelijke bron energie en passie voor muziek. In de jaren dat Nokturné bezig is zijn plek te veroveren in het feestsegment heeft het een trouwe achterban opgebouwd die elke avond tot een onvergetelijke maakt. Voor de toekomst zijn er grootse plannen waarbij het faciliteren van een fameuze ’nachtelijke ervaring’ het streven is. Houd het collectief in de gaten want je zult nog veel van ze gaan horen!
