Club Furies Weekly: January III-2 | 2022

It was a while since we had an artist from Ukraine joining us, but our label has always gotten quite a lot of support in that country. The love is mutual!

Eleck comes from Odessa and is what can only be described as hard working and driven. He puts out new tracks at a frantic pace, while maintaining quality throughout. 
His EP for us is deep and dark and at the same time still packs an enormous punch throughout. Opening track 'Reductor' - as the title suggests - keeps everything pretty minimalistic and gloomy, but this will surely go down well with many Techno DJs who don't want to jump the Rave bandwagon. Title track 'Tunnel Vision' is a bit more straightforward, like a train coming at you - while you are tied to the tracks. 
On we go with 'Valve 11-44' which I completely forgot to ask where the title comes from, but it is such a beauty that it doesn't really matter: straightforward techno with metallic stabs and a rumbling delay masterfully kept in check. 'Polymers' stays in the industrial realm and could pass very well for an Amotik track. And if you know how much we love that man, you can only see this as a compliment of epic proportions.

Noah Lyas - Vivid Memories

We are happy to conclude 2021 with our last premiere of the year courtesy of Chilean producer and co-founder of Dosis Records, John Plaza. Releasing on the Wales-based NFEREE label, the eight-track ambient techno album 'Altostrados' is full of groovy atmospherics and cinematic synth lines. 

‘Eckig’ takes on an immersive odyssey to the low starry sky, creating a dynamic of hypnotic austerity. The underlying warmth of its spacey, dreamy pads and acid-sparkled blips shadowing a trippy-charged percussion, give the way to a lively-spirited emotion to shine through its minimalistic rhythmic skeleton.

This winter, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on percussive rhythms between Ambient, Deep Techno and Drum & Bass.

Artist biography :
Iffie is a dj and project currator based in Athens.
Her sound explores dark and deep elements with an affinity for modern techno. She loves making her sets as cohesive as possible, intertwining various genres by leaving no room for sudden transitions.
She has established her own Podcast Series called Into The Abyss.

Through the poplars, different echoes resonate.
Those old roots are already tired of the concrete jungles, of the indiscriminate usurpation of what once belonged to everyone, and of that trivial exploitation of the eternal for the most ephemeral purposes that so abound.
Does no one see the inherent brilliance in each moment, the hidden magic behind every 'simple' act? It is in that glow, behind the mirror, where the true reality hides, and no one seems to want to notice it; no one wants to see beyond their own reflection.
Or so it seemed. Little by little, curiosity, for lack of a better resource and having already discarded the rest of the options, seems to be having an effect on the disoriented masses in search of a direction. And while many have already dared to look and have even been on this side for a long time, there had never been an interest of this magnitude.
God is dead, the poets exclaim, and it must be because of this that the illusory balance that sustained banal existence lost its unstable stability.
For those who know how to listen, the trumpets that announce the coming of a different panorama resonate, where the old values ​​are no longer of any use.
Perhaps the poets are right.
Perhaps it was that old center that sought to give meaning to what has none, that with symbols tried to represent the greatest of abstractions, which retained a species with as much potential as can be imagined.
Will the news that the poets so much announce and that the trumpets keep exposing to the ears of those who are well attached to the greatest of illusions ever arrive? Will those deaf ears want to hear it?
It's just a matter of waiting and dancing, to the rhythm of the moon, while we do so. Thus leaving them, at least, a small trace of what it feels like to dwell behind the almost imperceptible veil that separates us.

Between April and July 2024, Goran and Attila crafted an album that resonates with deep melancholy, love and drama. Written and produced without the aid of computers, this work relies solely on one sampler and synths, blending timeless analog warmth and granulated ambience with contemporary sensibilities. The album is a rich tapestry of emotive soundscapes, where spiced-up vocal samples are reimagined in a new musical environment, creating a unique sonic experience that feels both intimate and broad.

Goat Grab are Attila Ábrahám and Goran Grubišić, electronic duo from Subotica, Serbia. Both of them were involved in the local music scene for three decades, either with DJing, producing or playing in underground bands.
But for the first time they are creating their dreamy soundscape, that is both chilling, suspense and breezy with heart wrenching poetry and spoken words.
