Magical Mistakes releases upcoming LP “Peaking in the Pitch Black” via The Playground Records on the 1st July. Magical Mistakes has already garnered support from the likes of Vice/ Noisey, FACT Mag, CLASH, XLR8R, Earmilk, The Line of Best Fit, BBC and many more. Currently based in Osaka, Japan, Erik runs the small events and boutique label Perfect Touch, working with labels and artists (Leaving Records, Shigeto, Yosi Horikawa, Obey City etc.) on tours and cross cultural creative projects. “Peaking in the Pitch Black” is the first single to be lifted from the LP which will be released on the 20th May. 

Following the path of other artists, like Bon Iver, Magical Mistakes, (a.k.a Erik Luebs) moved to Shiba-san, one of Japan’s most rural villages, to create his sound. Here he was able to draw inspiration from his environment and also from the lineage of contemplative beats crafted by the vibrant community of Osaka artists, such as Shlohmo and Mount Kimbie. It’s clear when listening to Magical Mistakes that his style strives to combine Eastern and Western influences. His tracks are textural, bell-bathed, slow slung electronic compositions blended with organic instrumentation, Japanese motifs, and ambient sounds, that create an immersive underwater effect.

Snow Ghosts have released their new single, ‘Heavy Heart’, the second track to be taken from their upcoming album A Quiet Ritual, out May 3rd.

A chillingly beautiful and captivating track, ‘Heavy Heart’ sees pensive soundscapes and ethereal vocals build to a climactic, distorted crescendo, while hauntingly catchy vocal melodies convey its unsettling sentiment. 

Snow Ghosts say, "’Heavy Heart’ is ultimately a love song. It addresses how trauma can affect those closest to you and how love can become the most beautiful of burdens."

‘Heavy Heart’ follows the release of ‘Rip’, the first track to be taken from their upcoming album A Quiet Ritual. Centring around the theme of death, the album seeks to process the shock and grief of bereavement and its aftermath, as well as casting back across history and other cultures for their own metaphors and coping strategies. 

The band explain, “’A Quiet Ritual’ maps out stages of the grieving process and how every individual deals with it in their own unique way. Most importantly how they handle their own heart and the other fragile hearts inevitably scattered around them.”

The independent label "Monocklockmusic" introduces a new mini-album (EP)” The Black Hands” by Pavel Dovgal. EP consists of tracks,which are not used in upcoming album “Bedouin” planning to release in spring 2013. The Black Hands drops on 21st of December 2012 on Doomsday. EP includes remix on the song "Planet of Experiment" by known russian musician Assai. Furthermore absolutely new track "Black Hands".
