Set in the time when violence wrecked Ahmedabad, ‘The Search for Light’ is a song that speaks about communalism in general and the 2002 Gujarat riots specifically. It is quite saddening to see the ruins of the concept of religion, a concept that originally sought to unite man and bring peace to the world. Modern times paint an uneasy picture of leaders trying to convince people with fake promises of peace while using quite ironic slogans such as ’The War for Peace’. In reality it is a deliberate war waged against peace itself. Amidst horrific images of burning houses and blazing shops, Humanity seeks hope. Humanity searches for light.
