Hi again, been a while !

After five years apart from composing and creating ; I tried to take the time and not pressure myself ; making what I like and do the "best". Experiencing the lack of imagination for so long is quite difficult but, in the end, you'll find a way in the ocean of melodies and mix it up to new pieces. I'm happy to find the path to creation again, after so long. Hope you'll enjoy this very new stuff.

A song we recorded back in April 2024 about how we talk about all the things that our wrong but it doesn’t make a difference.
Great Britain is broken at the moment and seriously needs fixing but know one seems to know how.
A new government as appeared to make it worse yet told us we can sort this.
The poorest are getting poorer and the richest are getting richer. The world will never be equal but when a country of our wealth is struggling we know something is wrong. 
Working families can’t pay the basics bills or put food on the table because prices have gone through the roof.
We pump chemical factory waste directly into our rivers because someone’s getting an handout somewhere along the line. Meanwhile the wildlife dies and can’t recover. 
Our incredible NHS system is on its knees & so under funded with record waiting lists for every treatment.
Wars in other countries that have a massive effect on our Country. 
We talk about all these things bringing them in with talking about the weather, football scores & VAR. 
It would just be nice to talk about the good things that make life worth living instead of doom & gloom.

This one is about how things change as a father as your kids grow up.  It uses an ABCDA format, like from a musical, which means more work for the listener ("I thought that was the chorus, but it didn't repeat!") but fitting for the theme, which is a one-way journey. The A-section melody returning at the end, but with a very different experience from the singer.

A Shepherd, Not A King

Let’s not mince words here. Trump is the embodiment of corruption, greed, and incompetence. He’s a man who has spent his entire life looking out for himself, exploiting others, and leaving chaos in his wake. As De Niro so eloquently put it: *“He’s a dog. He’s a pig. He’s a con. He’s a bullsh*t artist. He’s a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”* This isn’t just about politics—it’s about morality. It’s about standing up to a man who has no respect for the rule of law, no respect for the truth, and no respect for the American people.  

Trump’s presidency was a disaster. He divided the country, emboldened hate, and failed to deliver on his promises. He’s a man who thrives on chaos, who lies with every breath, and who cares only about his own ego. As De Niro said: *“He’s a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a mutt. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s an idiot. He’s a fool.”* And yet, here we are, facing the possibility of him returning to power. We cannot let that happen. We cannot allow this man to continue to poison our democracy.  

This is not just about Trump—it’s about the people who enable him. The sycophants, the cowards, and the opportunists who stand by his side and allow his corruption to flourish. They are just as guilty as he is. As De Niro said: *“They’re all scum. They’re all mutts. They don’t know what they’re talking about.”* We need to hold them accountable. We need to stand up and fight back.  

The stakes are too high to sit on the sidelines. This is about the soul of our nation. It’s about protecting our democracy, our values, and our future. We cannot afford to let Trump and his enablers win. We must vote, we must organize, and we must make our voices heard. As De Niro said: *“We’re gonna fight back. We’re gonna fight back with everything we’ve got.”*  

So let’s do this. Let’s come together and defeat Trump once and for all. Let’s show the world that we are better than this. That we will not tolerate corruption, lies, and hate. That we will stand up for what’s right. As De Niro said: *“We’re gonna win. We’re gonna win because we have to.”*  

This is our moment. This is our fight. Let’s get to work.

The Trump Files

I am trying hard to come up with songs that are, for me, different. In this song two people meet, recognising a common feeling of loneliness, they go for a coffee and chat about their respective issues. Afterwards they agree to mee t again - cue for a follow up song - or two.

I have tried to work with an unexpected structure, short verses and longer choruses. AND staying away from cliche rhymes by actively staying away from rhymes altogether. I like it and although I found it difficult to stay within it's boundaries, I  have come to love the way I flowed from verse to pre -chorus to chorus. I really hope to complete the story in a trilogy at some time in the near future.

Hello…. So who is Darwin the cat… really? I suppose just an old recluse like me. An older cat who I was tasked with cat-sitting this summer. Initially, I never saw him. Ha. Then one day, he appeared out of nowhere and we became best buds. He became talkative and encouraged me to ask him about life. I would ask him something and he would tell me all about it. So of course here’s a song about our shenanigans. A simple song. Ukulele, vox, and some finger-tapping keyboard percussion. In other news, tiny chickadees have been following me around the yard when I water, and a new generation of rabbits hang out near the small patches of red clover I planted around the yard... They stretch out and relax in the shade during the day. I laugh at them. The raccoon(s) come through late at night, and sometimes I hear them scream, which does sound weirdly unnerving. A hawk is in and about hunting the yard for small birds and whatnot. The birds in the yard, head into the spruce tree branches where the hawk cannot go. I built a small branch wall around the fire ant mound back by the compost pile, as someone keeps digging into it, maybe the coons or possibly flickers trying to get at the larvae. Now the mound is really built up as the ant colony has worked feverishly to rebuild it. That particular ant colony has been here for decades. Plenty of apples and wild plums now, so I have to be alert when going outside late at night, as maybe the bear will return in the midst of hyperphagia, to gorge on the apples. There were some deer here briefly as well. I have begun autumn chores in preparation for the long winter here and have taken to eating apples and plums from the trees, as I take a break from my chores. I could be a bear… hahahahaha.
