Jussi and Natasha arrived at the studio first and were just setting up when Jussi started playing the intro to "Lipstick and Ash " and Natasha began to fill out the strings.

By the time the rest of the band arrived the idea was pretty well formed and the song, cinematic post rock, is unusual as the drums and bass only feature for 8 bars, the rest being strings and guitar.

Theory wise, it goes Bm7 then A7 and some extended notes. Which points to either D or Bm. I decided to go to B and then A and then G and then A. All major chords. B and Bm are similar. Then, from A, to Em which is not too big of a change cos’ they both have E for the ‘well go down parts’. Then G and then back to Bm for ‘heartbeats.’. Again, both G and Bm share B so that works. Then finally, from A to A7. A7 points to Dm so that’s how the chorus begins. Chorus also has a Bb and then C which points to the key of F. Before going from G to Am which goes to Am. Then the whole process starts again except at the end we go to Bm. So 3 keys in a single chorus/outro which is pretty cool. 
The poppier elements in the prechorus are not exactly a musical direction but more of what I improvised in the moment. 
I’m extremely satisfied with the mix and will be working more with this guy in the future.

Black and blue just like the earths soil (reference to NIN’s piggy I guess. Also my 2 fave colors. Altho black is the absence of color)
Now ya see why I just can’t breathe.   (The only other person I know that finds it this hard to breathe is Adam Levine)

At all. At all.  (The ‘you’ doesn’t really refer to a romantic interest in particular. I wanted something powerful and something that could stir up some emotions. It’s probably…a guy. For your purposes, you might as well [insert person here] if you feel like singing along.

Here we’ll make a stand. This is where they’ll die. (300 reference. You know I think I’ve been fighting Persians longer than the Spartans ever did. That’s 4 songs which reference Sparta. That’s more than 72 hours it took to make which is roughly how long the Spartans fought the Persians for)

From the live houses of the Jing to busking in tunnels (Granted, the 33.3% donation rate was based on the fact that he had removed his stifling white collar shirt and was dancing bare chested) in Singapore, Psychedelic Revolution (aka Psyche Rev) is a one man project that likes most things such as alt r&b and alt rock. Made it as a semi finalist in 'Song of the Year' competition in 2022 with his song 'Cassius.' Finalist in 2023 with 'We'll Go Down.' Finalist in 2024 with 'Sigh' and also taking semi finalist positions with 'Heartbeats & Inner Turmoil' and 'You Had Me'. Finalist in 2025 with 'Cold Cold Storm' and semi finalist with 'So Typical.' Tastes like Kung Pao Chicken. Looks like a cross between Brag Pitt and Heath Leather. Smells like team spirit. Feels like baby powder. Oh the music. Yeah, it sounds good.

Daily Musing:

The schedule is like this cos’ one song takes a huge amount of time to produce. Then the next will be easier as a sort of break. So if I equal any one of these reference tracks I’m doing well. I might get someone to help me with the mastering,. Mastering is pretty cheap. Since 25’s Vesper Lynd took 15 hours of prod work I want to pace myself.

March: Serious pop. Srsly. Like indie pop. ‘ Using ‘The Lake Heard Everything’ as inspiration. OK that song might be AI. First time a human is trying to be more like AI instead of the other way around. So this might be our sad song of the year.   5/10
April: shelved retro soul tune
May: Abi’s birthday. I want to do a ‘build up’ rock song. With a lot of suspense.       6/10
June: How to train your dragon theme          10/10
July: daft punk electronic danceable tune.    7/10
August: Trap electronic hybrid. Royalty by Ezgod as inspiration. This is probably the hardest to do as the production is immense on that song. 10/10
Sep:: dark rnb        8/10    using any of 1984’s tracks as inspiration. He’s a very solid producer here on Soundcloud.But I will do a full length cover for once.
