Forgetting Yesterday

Wow, what a treat to be able to work with stems from Mr. Zimmer.  I just love his themes so much I was inspired to write a thematic variation that could be used in another scene in the same movie.  I also wanted to keep this easily accessible and classic, going from intimate to triumphant.  The first half is entirely new composition and in the 2nd half  the brass stems, PBH, woodwinds and perc (mainly riding up the cymbal swells) were used.   I reprogrammed the strings to accentuate the new polyrhythms on the 2nd half but liked how the arpeggiated violins worked with the woodwinds so I reprogrammed them but kept the part the same.

Meaghan's Theme-BLEEDING FINGERS CONTEST

This is my entry for the Bleeding Fingers competition, based on  the stems of a theme written by Hans Zimmer. I've mainly used the vocal stem to begin with, and then based the two following sections on the main theme, firstly with different harmony, and then using the same chord progression but with a new melody based on fragments of the original.

Co-written with artist Jake Robertson.  This is a song that blends a bit of Jason Mraz with a salute to bands like Weezer and The Offspring.  This song was a blast to produce.
