Los Angeles-based public radio station KCRW is one of the most respected and progressive radio stations in the world, featuring an eclectic mix of independent music, NPR news, talk and arts programming.

The band that never was. Pull had three years of local acclaim producing noisy guitar rock while flirting with loops and samples. Numerous gigs in Vancouver and a tour stint with Radiohead on their ‘Pablo Honey’ tour gave the band a kick toward a pending record deal and cross Canada tour of their own. Like most promising young bands, Pull imploded and the members went off to pursue electronic music, film and family. After 18 years apart the band has reunited to take care of some unfinished business and to see what’s left.

Vancouver-based artist, Paul McNeill (New Channel) has long been an inventor and pioneer in the local music scene. His latest collaboration is being one half of the cinematic ambient duo, Montane District, and their beats driven alter-ego project, Seaboards. (Listen on the label profile: @northsilver-imprint)
 
With his own project, New Channel, he draws on his favourite influences that range from 60's exotica, punk and dub to deep house, techno and ambient electronic music. In the studio he works with random sound bites, noise, synthetic washes, guitars, bass, drums that are combined with vintage audio gear and modern studio software. Sounds are chopped up and layered into smooth, flowing trips. The results range from bright, uplifting chillout tracks to dark, dubby, moody soundscapes.
