Shuffle is a tune inspired by 1940's jazz. It captures a feeling of downtown New York in the 40's; a kind of Broadway/Vaudeville, hat tipping, shuffling, cane-swinging bebop. 
But in a completely new and modern context.

Im so happy to finally share with you my latest EP 'Idiom' out now on Merkaba Music. Comprising of field recordings taken from south America, South-East Asia and other parts of the world, it takes the listener on a spacious journey through downtempo rhythms, dubby bass and world music with a progressive feel. 
Idiom (meaning a characteristic mode of expression in music or art) delivers textured synthetic and organic instruments, fused together with Rute's iconic broken beat, uplifting, bass laden grooves, provoking imagery of shimmering rivers flowing through the vast rainforests and that which inhabits it. 
While providing a balanced contrast between the dark murky depths and the ethereal light within, Idiom is sure to breathe a captivating atmosphere into the present, inside and out.
