I buried hope in softened dirt
and watered it with all my hurt.
Petals bloomed where silence slept
each one fed on what I wept. (Fed on me…)

The vines grew fast, they knew my name,
wrapped around my guilt and shame.
I kissed the thorns to feel alive,
but they dug down and learned to thrive.
(They never let go…)

My hands were cracked, but still I sowed,
with broken bones I shaped the rows.
A garden made of breath and bone,
but every root was not my own.

The seeds were sweet, but turned to teeth,
gnashing just beneath the wreath. (Chew)
The flowers sang when no one came
a lullaby of dirt and flame.
(Burn with me…)

Tuck me in where the wild things crawl,
the garden sings, and I hear it all.

So bloom from me, this husk, this clay,
make beauty out my slow decay.
I wasn’t lost, I just grew wrong,
but roots remember every song.

My chest split wide to birth a rose,
it screamed in red, but no one knows.

The worms don’t judge, they only take. (Take…)
They curl around each past mistake.
And even death must learn to eat,
so chew the guilt between my teeth.

She tucked a daisy in my throat,
and called it peace, and watched me float.
My ribs a bed, my breath a breeze…
I sleep where all things bend their knees.
