"Attacca"

Bealtaine is one of the four major Irish Celtic annual festivals along with Samhain, Imbolc and Lughnasa. It signifies the return of the light and widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man, 
Although May was heralded with joy, an element of the magical lay behind the merriments, with protection against unseen forces given an urgency at this time.
There were curious beliefs around housework in May. It was considered unlucky to dust the house and believed unlucky to get married in May. It was considered unlucky to dig, bathe, whitewash or sail on May Day. Not hearing the cuckoo in the month of May meant certain death for the non-hearer!
 In Ireland, a tree or bush was decorated with ribbons or shells near an individual house. It was usually white thorn, the most potent of faery trees which flowers in May, which paradoxically is considered very unlucky if brought indoors. A green bough hung over the door, woven from sycamore, was also believed to bring good luck.

The title comes from a famous Irish poem from the 18th century . Cill Chais By Aodhagán Ó Rathaille ,It is a lament on the loss of land ,love and freedom , yet the last line ,this title ,gives a hope for the future ,a wish for a different outcome ,  a wonderful weapon to combat such adversity ,something that is still so important today .

Yes, I know, I've bite off more than I can chew, but whatever... I guess it's worth tackling such a great and catchy musical theme ;)

The idea was to "Write a short piece (1-2 mins) that starts with a recognizable melody in it’s original form, and then take that melody and reinvent it in your own style. Use one or more of the first 10 LABS packs that were released for this, but feel free to incorporate any other tools you’d like."

During the first few months of last year, I was ill with my recurring kidney stone problems.

Fortunately, that passed.

I left some of the compositions I started unfinished, and some sketches were barely started.

This is one of them.

My mother lives in a typical Andalusian house in Seville.

One of the characteristics of these houses is that they usually have a courtyard where there are all kinds of flowering and non-flowering plants.

Obviously, they need to be cared for, watered, fertilized, etc.
My mother loves doing it, and in spring she reaps the rewards of her labor.

I always give my flower icons to the women I follow (I hope I'm not annoying them by doing that), so I thought it was interesting to draw inspiration from all of that to put this together.
