Coming back to life again after the pandemic. I've always been a fan of Idd Aziz's vocals, so this track hit home for me - this incredible love song in Swahili, one of the languages I grew up with back home in Nairobi."

Raj made his debut in Nairobi's burgeoning electronic music scene in late 2010 and quickly became known for his unrelenting groovy selections, playing everything from deep and afro house to minimal and dub techno. Now based in Malmö, Raj continues to create and play music that blends these elements.

One foot in dubby, stripped back, Malmö-influenced minimal house, the other in percussive, melodic, Nairobi-influenced deep house. That’s the best way to describe Raj el Rey’s music and DJ sets - with his personal journey and influences from his two hometowns shining through all the way.

Having made his debut in Nairobi's burgeoning electronic music scene in late 2010, Raj soon became known for his unrelenting groovy selections - playing everything from deep and afro house, to minimal and techno, continually refining his style while maintaining a keen appreciation for lesser-known underground sounds. 

Now based in Malmö, Raj continues to make and play music that blends elements from house, dub, disco and techno, applying his experience as a selector and appreciator of electronic music into crafting sounds that reflect his different influences and background.
