Reflections

MooN(木霊)

Look at a U.S. map, and draw a straight line from Natchez, Mississippi to Richmond, Virginia.  Then cross it with another line from Savannah, Georgia to Memphis, Tennessee.  Next draw a circle around the outside tips of each line.        The area you've encircled is the subject of this song.
     There is so much spectacular beauty in this world, but I just have never found another place that can compare to a thick old-growth Appalachian forest or the rolling hardwood and pine hills of central Alabama or middle Tennessee.
      I grew up there but don't get to go back often enough.
      The song's title White Spangled Hills is reference to the dogwood tree, which grows wild throughout the area, coloring the wooded hillsides with its white blooms for a month or so in early Spring.

First attempt at using Senode. I just used one of the basic presets to generate a four part sequence, which is fed into AUM & rescaled to one of the Messiaen Modes In Thumbjam, sent through various effects & used to trigger some drum patterns.

She's one of the finest singers (and live performers) I've had the pleasure of discovering in this great musical community of ours. She's also one of the nicest people you're likely to meet around these parts. If you haven't yet discovered her, then you've probably been without power for a very long time now. No need to go into too much detail on this one. The lyrics sum it up beautifully. Lets just say this one is an intimate portrayal of the wonderful experiences we have that make being human feel... well... more heavenly. Why waste your time dwelling on the things in life that aren't enjoyable? Why not grab that person you adore more than anyone (or anything) else in the world... Give them a hug. Give them a kiss... and remind yourselves why you fell in love in the first place.
