Imagine how this world could be if each one of us took up these practices with Ram Dass each day. If we just took 30 minutes to an hour to rest in love; to send love in to and out to all. Resting in love; opening our hearts. 

Imagine if the corporate elite allowed us love one another in awareness and presence instead of constantly dividing, distracting and manipulating us to find hapiness in the products and entertainment that weaken our children and grandchildren.

Ram Dass leads a 28-minute Vipassana meditation on bringing our mind to one point through the breath. This process must be done gently, the mind must remain soft, subtle, buoying and light. 

As your mind begins to concentrate, emotions will rise to the surface - greed, lust, doubt, anger, agitation… just notice them, don’t feed them or judge them - then gently return to the breath.

We keep the awareness gently riding on the breath, noting sensations rising and then passing away, like leaves floating down the stream.

Ram Dass leads a meditation using the Gate, Gate mantra: Gate, Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha.

Gate Gate – Meditation

This is a recording of a set of singing bowls.  The root bowl is C#, the Aum tone or Earth tone.  The other bowls are harmonized with the Chakras in this scale.

These types of singing bowls have been used since ancient times in meditations and healing work.  They are traditionally made with 7 metals representing the 7 planets that the tibetan monks were aware of at the time.  The bowls produce monaural beats and harmonic overtones that affect body and mind on a deep level.  The bowl set here is based on the Earth tone.  This is also known as "Om" and is the calculated sound signature of the Earth as it travels around the sun. In Indian music this is also called the Sadja. The corresponding bowls were matched according to the Chakra system in Ayurvedic medicine.  This also corresponds roughly with the western major scale.

Ram Dass first went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, a prominent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr. Timothy Leary. He continued his psychedelic research until that fateful Eastern trip in 1967, when he traveled to India. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means “servant of God.” Everything changed then – his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now” ever since. Ram Dass’ spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions on the journey, helping to free them from their bonds as he works through his own.
