Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, which was briefly called Rhodesia and Zimbabwe-Rhodesia as a former British crown colony of Southern Rhodesia and as a secession territory.

Turkey is a unitary state located in the Middle Eastern Anatolia region and in southeastern European Eastern Thrace.

Geographically, the country is usually divided into seven regions. More than 85 million people (as of 2022) live in Turkey, covering an area of ​​783,562 km². Turkey has been secular and Kemalist since its founding in 1923 as the successor state to the Ottoman Empire. The country's founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, initiated a modernization of Turkey through social and legal reforms modeled on various European nation-states. Current President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has led the country since 2003. Since around 2012, he has led the country in an increasingly authoritarian manner. Parties other than the PFDJ are banned, and freedom of expression and the press are severely restricted. Eritrea has neither a parliament nor independent courts. As a result, there have been no national elections in the past 33 years. The country is the only one in the world without a constitution. A strict system of military conscription and forced labor prevails. Serious human rights violations occur regularly. Eritrea is often referred to as "Africa's North Korea." Large numbers of people have fled abroad to escape the regime in the past and continue to do so.

United Arab Emirates are a federation of seven emirates in the east of the Arabian Peninsula in southwest Asia. Located on the Persian Gulf coast and with access to the Gulf of Oman, the country borders Saudi Arabia and Oman. The capital of the UAE is Abu Dhabi, as one of the country's three major cities alongside Dubai and Sharjah, it is also an important economic and cultural center.

The UAE consists of the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain. Before independence in 1971, the Emirates were known as the “Treaty Coast” or “Treaty States” because of the protectorate treaties that local rulers signed with the United Kingdom in the 19th century. The current political system is based on the 1971 constitution (the seventh emirate of Ras al-Khaimah was added in 1972). The state religion is Islam and Sharia is the main source of legislation. Arabic is the country's official language, but English is also widely spoken.
The UAE has the seventh largest oil reserves in the world, is the most developed economy in the Middle East and one of the richest countries in the world with a per capita gross domestic product of $71,139 (adjusted for purchasing power in 2020). The United Nations Development Program lists the country as one of the countries with very high levels of human development. The International Monetary Fund classifies the UAE as a “high income developing economy”. The country is a founding member of the Gulf Cooperation Council and a member state of the Arab League, the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, OPEC and the World Trade Organization.

The UAE has around 10 million inhabitants, but only around 10 percent of them are nationals. The majority of the population are migrant workers; this is the second highest rate of migrant workers in the world after Qatar. Due to labor migration, 40 percent of all UAE residents come from India (28 percent) and Pakistan (12 percent) alone. Because migrants are predominantly men, the UAE also has the world's second-highest proportion of men in the total population.

The UAE is governed by authoritarian rule. Freedom of expression is severely restricted and serious human rights violations occur regularly in the United Arab Emirates, especially against women and migrant workers.

Rwanda is a densely populated landlocked country in East Africa or Central Africa. It borders Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Tanzania. Because of its hilly landscape, Rwanda is also called the "Land of a Thousand Hills." The main African watershed between the Nile and Congo River basins runs through its territory.

From 1884 to 1916, Rwanda was a German colony as part of German East Africa. After the First World War in 1919, Rwanda became a Belgian League of Nations mandate and, after 1945, a UN trust territory. It gained independence in 1962. Due to structural problems, high population density, and conflicts between the Hutu and Tutsi ethnic groups, the country was long one of the poorest in Africa. The social conflict led to a civil war in Rwanda (1990–1994) and the genocide of the Tutsi in 1994, in which radical Hutus murdered approximately 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and many moderate Hutus.[5] Since the end of the civil war, an economic reconstruction process[6] began, which was facilitated, among other things, by the exploitation of natural resources in the eastern Congo provinces. Since 2000, Paul Kagame has been president, ruling the country as an authoritarian dictator. The government system has been internationally criticized for its lack of press freedom, suppression of the opposition, manipulation of elections, and the destabilization of eastern Congo.

Ivory Coast is a country in West Africa. It borders Liberia, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Ghana, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.

The country, which gained independence from France on August 7, 1960, was politically stable for decades and was governed by the PDCI (Parti Démocratique de Côte d'Ivoire) unity party of then-President Houphouët-Boigny. Export revenues from cocoa and coffee guaranteed relative prosperity. To this day, Ivory Coast remains the world's largest exporter of cocoa. Internal tensions led to the end of PDCI rule in 1990. With increasing economic difficulties caused by the decline in cocoa prices, conflicts escalated and led to a civil war-like situation that tore the country in two in 2002. Since the 2007 peace agreement, efforts have been made to reconcile and reunify Ivory Coast. Since then, it has been one of Africa's fastest-growing economies.

Yamoussoukro has been the official capital since 1983. The seat of government is located in the former capital, Abidjan, which remains the economic and political center of the country.
