LSM Advent Calendar - The Full Works

Here we go again folks, our musical advent calendar is back by dope demand! Over the next 25 days expect the finest in musical talent bring everything from breaks to funk to techno by our favorite artists from 2019 and beyond.

For those not familiar with the Tempest, he is a french DJ and producer based in Nantes, member of LOT49 and manager of his own label CClone Records.

Finding freedom in music he was lulled by rock and roll & blues as a young 'un progressing to techno sounds in the nineties where he found his real passion - djng at clubs and free parties.

Guess what came next .... he began to make is own beats! After various projects and aliases, Beat Tempest was born with his breakbeat, techno, techfunk sounds that we all know and love.

In 2013 he created his own label - CClone and by 2014 he was signed to the mighty LOT49.

And so ladies and gentlemen - we introduce to you his advent track - Santa Claus Breaker. A gritty breakbeat banger with balls!! Very heavy indeed...

It’s been another action packed year for, Phil Wrighton aka WheresNorth?. He has delighted festival crowds dj-ing throughout the summer and he’s also been bringing some of the best underground talent to his always bouncing ‘DuskTilDawn‘ nights in, Sheffield. Stanton Warriors, Mooqee, Mafia Kiss, Deekline and Utah Saints are just a few to visit the ‘Steel City’ this last year and the party continues up north as ‘DuskTilDawn’ celebrates it’s third birthday on 30th January with a jaw dropper of a lineup. Skapes, Dub Pistols (dj set) and Phil Hartnoll/ Orbital (dj set) are all on the bill and if this excites you get all the info HERE.

As well as dj-ing and scouting for top quality artists, Phil, can always be found producing some cracking work of his own and his brand new track ‘Reverse’ is our second exclusive in our Advent Calendar giveaway! ‘Reverse’ is all abut the old skool vibes. Dirty basslines and raw broken beats is what’s going down here and culminates in being a ravers ticket to paradise! Throw your hands in the air ladies and gents, WheresNorth?, is in town!

Advent Day 8 - Kollier Synthetic Sessions Volume 1

Here to enhance the party mood even further in the run-up to the big day we have 'Bring On The Brass Vol. 4' by me for day 23 of our awesome advent calendar of music. That's right folks, my annual mixtape that celebrates the spark of joy only brass brings to music is back!

Funk and Disco is once again the order of the day with my mixtape, with a selection of old and new tracks from my collection that I've hunted high and low for to make sure they fit the brass brief. As you'll hear, my hunting has brought great rewards and a fine selection of tracks can be heard from a super-talented crop of producers, many of whom have been featured on LSM several times before. A big thank you must go out to the guys and girls out there for making sure we always find our happy place when listening to their music! As for my mix, it's an upbeat and uptempo affair that's been put together in the hope that it brings a smile to your faces while you bust out some alcohol-fuelled shapes. Well for our Advent finale, Christmas has arrived in style as this gift hit our inbox with a cheery “tadaaah”. One of our all-time favourite artists, Hong Kong Ping Pong’s Morphosis lays down a fresh studio mix exclusive for Life Support Machine… with bells on.

2019 highlights for Hong Kong Ping Pong are hosting the opening night at the Ghetto Funk Nightclub at Shindig Weekender, and hosting a stage at Leopallooza.

Morphosis’ other pieces of magic late this year include Beating the Crates 05/11/19 and Little South podcast episode 24/19. The genius is showing no signs of slowing down.
