Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is very pleased to welcome back the ElectroGorilla with his second solo release on the label. This time around he&rsquo;s cooked up a full-length album of various block rocking beats with a good doze of electro funk elements.
Each track celebrates different spices in the animal planet by pairing them with an appropriate funky groove and breakbeat which makes up what the ElectroGorilla called the: Enimal Planet.
Since ElectroGorilla&rsquo;s debute EP on BBP in 2015 he has been all around the funky breaks scene under various aliases. From TruFunk to BombStrikes under the The Funk Fury and featuring on various compilations and releases on Future Funk under the name Synoptix.
Now he&rsquo;s back in the Gorilla outfit and boy did he bring along the funk this time! Each track is showing a new and more melodic side and a depth in the productions that are rarely seen in the assembly line electronic music scene these days. Demonstrated to perfection on the melodies and catching wobble basslines on Mosquito Lullaby and the progressive funky grooves on the Anteloop featuring Bob. The mellow sides of the spectrum are also being experimented with on tracks like Zebra Tribe and the beautiful Killer Whale Odyssey.

90s Mixtape

Next up in our advent calendar is our friends - Spirit Wrestlers, who formed the 52 card trick project throughout 2019. Here's one of many goodies. A tidy little number from Hot Toddy that is guaranteed to make you get your advent countdown groove on.

Spirit Wrestlers is a charitable record label based in Nottingham.

The '52 Card Trick" is a fund raising project based on music and natural medicine spanning 1 year.

Starting back in March 2019, Spirit Wrestlers will be releasing up to 3 pieces of music each week. They do not follow a music map and support new as well as established musicians.

At the end of the 52 weeks, the proceeds raised will be given to three non-government funded grassroots organisations and charities supporting people healing naturally whilst living with cancer.

All of the artists involved have given their work free of charge.

Here to enhance the party mood even further in the run-up to the big day we have 'Bring On The Brass Vol. 4' by me for day 23 of our awesome advent calendar of music. That's right folks, my annual mixtape that celebrates the spark of joy only brass brings to music is back!

Funk and Disco is once again the order of the day with my mixtape, with a selection of old and new tracks from my collection that I've hunted high and low for to make sure they fit the brass brief. As you'll hear, my hunting has brought great rewards and a fine selection of tracks can be heard from a super-talented crop of producers, many of whom have been featured on LSM several times before. A big thank you must go out to the guys and girls out there for making sure we always find our happy place when listening to their music!
