@shakalovesyou are back with the second installment of their Joints & Jams series of mixes on the always excellent @Bombstrikes label. The album is incoming at the end of March and features  21 slices of only the funkiest disco edged house music including serious floor shakers from LV favs Opolopo, Young Pulse, Natasha Kitty Katt, Da Lukas and HP Vince. 

As always Shaka Loves You have crafted a couple of seriously hot exclusive tracks for the album and our premier today is one of the highlights of the album In My Arms which drops as a single on the 11th March. Expect five minutes of loopy diva vocals, brass stabs and rubber a*s shakin' basslines, 100% dancefloor heat.

BBP are kicking the summer of with the 4th instalment of the Breakin the Riddim series, this time with an array of styles for all.
Jayl Funk kicks it off with &lsquo;Come on Little Girl&rsquo;, getting your head nodding and feet bopping with some lovely subtle vocals, and pure reggae vibes in all, leading perfectly into the next track; &lsquo;Selecta&rsquo;. When BadboE gets his hands on any track, there&rsquo;s no disappointment, and that&rsquo;s the same with this one. Nice heavy sub bass rolling in the back behind some harmonica action and those vocal stabs bringing it all alive, before getting super bouncy. We&rsquo;re getting a bit spooky with &lsquo;Rhizoma&rsquo; by the Funkin Basstards. This is a real funk fuelled roller with all those essential elements including big horns, plucky guitars, a mean bassline a haunting vocal to provide of a proper funky, reggae vibes bopper.
Pecoe brings his own style as always with &lsquo;Bring the Booty&rsquo;, building you up with keyboard and guitar stabs, until it drops with some sweet vocals a flowing funk guitar, and a pumping bassline. Towlie DJs&rsquo; skills are on top form, with his cheeky remix &lsquo;Limbs&rsquo;. Getting uo tempo, and proper bouncy, thus is bound to be included in those summer festival sets. Time to get &lsquo;Step Step Step&rsquo; stepping with DJ Clairvo! Now a little change in style, getting some heavy beats, a big bad bass, and vocals getting you stomping the night away.
Finishing of, we have a rising star of the glitch breaks scene. Funkinright brings you &lsquo;High Yo&rsquo;, at track with one intention, and that&rsquo;s to bring that party to the next level. Funkin Basstards - Rhizoma

Italian producer Freedust is all about the funk-soul and the breaks blended with some lighthearted vocals that makes a sound that&rsquo;s is both classic and new. The sounds of Freedust is just the type of music we can&rsquo;t resist here at BBP - so when Mako &amp; Mr Bristow brought forward their epic big beat remix of My New Sunglasses - we did not think twice to get all over this project.
To complete the package we brought in 2 veterans in the funky breaks scene: BadboE &amp; Dj B-Side to do their funky thing on a party-breaks remix.
My New Sunglasses is the title track of Freedust&rsquo;s debut album from 2021 by the same name and features some classic grooves and some sweet vocals from Swedish singer Lisa Widmark.
On the remix front Mako &amp; Mr Bristow has captured the essential samples of the original and added some big bouncy beats and made it their own. BadboE &amp; B-Side has brough the track to the dancefloors with some ghetto vibes and human beatbox beats.

Qdup's latest disco fueled single 'Electric Tonight' gets re-imagined in 3 different styles by top notch artists. Rory Hoy, Turnstyle and Holmes Ives each put their own touch on the single and give us 3 new remixes that will be lighting up dancefloors and shaking butts world wide.

First up and making his Fort Knox Recordings debut is UK's own Rory Hoy. Rory has 5 critically acclaimed albums under his belt on Freddy Fresh's Howlin' Records label and numerous singles, EPs, remixes and collaborations on various labels worldwide. And he literally wrote the book on Big Beat with his 2018 publication 'The Little Big Beat Book' which explores one of our favorite 90's genres. Rory delivers a super vibey mid-tempo breaks remix that's sure to keep the heads nodding and bodies' moving. Groovy chords and a classic sounding breakbeat lead the way and a heavy bassline drop elevates the energy to flex any soundsystem. 

Up next is Turnstyle, a new moniker for the artist formerly known as Bobby C Sound TV, who remixed Fort Knox Five and many more. His remix of Electric Tonight takes us on a journey that feels like neon drenched 80's Synth Wave with modern heavy-hitting dancefloor production sensibility. Ominous arpeggiated synth lines and a pulsating bassline and beat drive the vibe of the track playing off the vibe of Qdup's original mix while pushing the tempo and energy up. This one makes us feel like getting in a Delorian and gunning it to 88mph to go back in time!

Rounding out the remixes is long time collaborator and Fort Knox Recordings mastering engineer, Holmes Ives. Over the years Ives has established himself as one of D.C.'s premiere electronic music producers with over 50 singles and 11 albums spread over various label including Yoshitoshi, Bedrock, Caffeine, Six Degrees, Shinichi and more. Holmes puts his stamp on Electric Tonight with a groover of a remix. complete with a 4-to-the-floor beat, a tight bassline and relentless rhythm lay the foundation as vocal chops weave through the beat to great musical effect. This remix is definitely Electric!

The vocals immediately catch your ear there’s a smooth, soulful vibe that strongly recalls Tenobi’s delivery on “What You Need.” The tone and phrasing feel intimate and effortlessly controlled, giving the track an emotional undercurrent that elevates the deep chill-house foundation.
