For those not familiar with the Tempest, he is a french DJ and producer based in Nantes, member of LOT49 and manager of his own label CClone Records.

Finding freedom in music he was lulled by rock and roll & blues as a young 'un progressing to techno sounds in the nineties where he found his real passion - djng at clubs and free parties.

Guess what came next .... he began to make is own beats! After various projects and aliases, Beat Tempest was born with his breakbeat, techno, techfunk sounds that we all know and love.

In 2013 he created his own label - CClone and by 2014 he was signed to the mighty LOT49.

And so ladies and gentlemen - we introduce to you his advent track - Santa Claus Breaker. A gritty breakbeat banger with balls!! Very heavy indeed...

It’s been another action packed year for, Phil Wrighton aka WheresNorth?. He has delighted festival crowds dj-ing throughout the summer and he’s also been bringing some of the best underground talent to his always bouncing ‘DuskTilDawn‘ nights in, Sheffield. Stanton Warriors, Mooqee, Mafia Kiss, Deekline and Utah Saints are just a few to visit the ‘Steel City’ this last year and the party continues up north as ‘DuskTilDawn’ celebrates it’s third birthday on 30th January with a jaw dropper of a lineup. Skapes, Dub Pistols (dj set) and Phil Hartnoll/ Orbital (dj set) are all on the bill and if this excites you get all the info HERE.

As well as dj-ing and scouting for top quality artists, Phil, can always be found producing some cracking work of his own and his brand new track ‘Reverse’ is our second exclusive in our Advent Calendar giveaway! ‘Reverse’ is all abut the old skool vibes. Dirty basslines and raw broken beats is what’s going down here and culminates in being a ravers ticket to paradise! Throw your hands in the air ladies and gents, WheresNorth?, is in town!

We've got a full on Acid House fest for advent day #22. It comes from Manchester's, Red Oktober, aka, Craig Whittaker and his mix that's a live recording of his set from the mighty Fortress stage at the very awesome Beat Herder festival this summer. Craig has always had a huge passion for Acid flavoured music and it's clear that he knows his stuff if you go by the selection of tracks he handpicked to twist the minds of the festival goers who were there to witness this live. Both Fifties and myself are huge fans of the producer and label owner behind today's first piece of music on advent day #23 and that man is, Alan Cross. As well as running the always amazing, Census Sound Recordings, you can also find him producing music of his own and chipping in with the odd remix on Census releases. Whether it's House or Breaks, Alan's sound has a real techy vibe about it which gives it a fuzzy, warm and mind opening feel. All that can be found in his exclusive tune for us 'Babylon On Fire', which is a truly breathtaking piece of Breakbeat and one we're sure will leave you opened mouthed and in awe of what you've just heard. Brilliant stuff!

If you followed last years LSM advent calendar, you'll know that we invited along the Breakbeat legends, Drumattic Twins, to brings us the beats to finish off our 25 days in style. For 2016, we thought we'd carry on with the legends theme and invite a couple of guys who I saw absolute smash it at this years Green Meadows Festival, to once again round off what has been another very enjoyable 25 days of music, these guys are, Utah Saints.

Tim and Jez have been there and pretty much done the lot. They've had a handful of top 10 releases, played around the world and they've supported some of the very biggest artists on the planet. We're super pleased they accepted our advent invitation and they've put together on hell of a party piece that features 12 of their very favourite tracks from 2016. If this mix wasn't already enough to liven up your Christmas day evening, we can spread further good news and announce that Utah Saints are heading back into the studio in 2017 and are planning on releasing a new batch of floor filling bangers of their own.
