What is this style of music used for? I am very interested, I used to make a lot of drone style music though I never knew what it was really used for.  I guess meditation?

A calm, meditative instrumental. An improvisation with ambient soundscapes from live recording of real birds from my backyard. Because for me, improvisation is composing, this song has strong compositional elements.

Emphotia [part 1]

Aosta is a five-movement trio for harp and winds. It's named after a small town in the Aosta valley in northern Italy - a place I was fortunate enough to visit in early 2020 before the pandemic put a stop to all traveling. This trio is something of a companion piece to "Courmayeur," the quintet I uploaded at the start of 2021.

The final movement is sort of a loosely structured set of variations on a theme based on a meter of 3 + 2 + 3 (at least that's how I count the underlying rhythmic pulse here)
