Ionium Records was founded 2004 by Sandra Knorr and Thomas Teehaa to publish works of the dark culture’s drawing card T.H. Industry. During the following years, Ionium Records inspirited the dark-electro-scene and the dancefloor with self-contained electro-tunes. The unification with XenoBiotic Records enhance the back-catalogue by further exceptional artists, such as e:o:nity, Neon Insect or Decence.

Henceforth, Ionium Records founder Thomas Teehaa and Falk Merten, the founder of afmusic, will be responsible for A&amp;R, promotion and the artist’s support service. Disributions as well as arrangements of Ionium Records will be managed by afmusic. Thus, a long-lasting cooperation becomes a commercial partnership and Germany’s most innovative subcultural record labels will be unified under one umbrella of Danse Macabre Records. afmusic remains Germany’s leading address for newcomer’s net-releases regarding the music genres Wave, Gothic and Independent.

Ionium Records offers a wide and increasing range of EBM, Industrial, Ambient and Synthpop. Together, both record labels use the advantages of the World Wide Web, which bands as well as fans can benefit from: bands have the chance to promote and distribute their music professionally and contemporary – fans have the free choice between a wide range of more than 50 releases and are able to listen to all offered songs in complete length for free.

From 1st September 2009, the entire back-catalogue can be found on the new Ionium Records website. Moreover, a lot of new releases foreshadow the dark culture. The upcoming releases are already quite promising. In addition to the reissue of the successful debut “Strangled Voices” by In Vein (side-project of Gothminister’s keyboarder Tom Kalstad) and a new album from EGOamp published by Ionium Records, 3 single-releases of Halo Effect at once are in their starting blocks. MEYER RECORDS, founded in May 2005 by well-known graphic designer and theater photographer Werner Meyer, quickly established itself as a small but hip cult label in the "audiophile scene".   
 
"[...] Voices are once again the main focus at Meyer. Listeners are drawn into a private listening experience, as if they were sitting right in the artist's living room."  (Welt am Sonntag)
 
The Cologne record label became renowned nationwide and received air time in 2006 with the release of the first sampler VOLUME ONE. LP – Magazin für Analoges HiFi & Vinylkultur says, "[...] Album of the year 2006: Superb song selection, great voices: MORE!" while Deutschlandradio Kultur calls the album "[...] an excellent compilation that inspires listeners to explore the individual artists' work more closely." 
 
The Blues album BONES by two-time recipient of the German vinyl award, Richard Bargel, was released in 2007 and stayed on AMAZON's top seller list for weeks. BLUESNEWS magazine comments, "… without a question one of the best German acoustic productions of the year!" 
 
MEYER RECORDS productions adhere to high quality standards in regard to recording technology, mastering (Pauler Acoustics) and pressing. "[...] Her [Esther Fellner, Via del Campo] audio engineering truly makes the sound come alive in between the speakers, further creating an impression of proximity and intensity – very close to hearing it live” (Matthias Böde, Editor-in-chief STEREO 2008).
 
The 2009 recording of MARIA PIHL's debut "MALVINA" marks the first large international order from Sweden [Border].  New copies of the CDs and vinyl had to be produced after just 14 days. MEYER RECORDS products are now also distributed to record stores in Japan, Hong Kong and the USA by the high-end manufacturer "clearaudio" from Erlangen, Germany. 
 
Top international distributor ROUGH TRADE will take over distribution in June 2010. MEYER RECORDS CDs and vinyl are now available in Saturn and Media Markt stores. Music downloads will also be available from MEYER RECORDS for the first time with the release of the live album "Richard Bargel w/ Major Heuser (ex-BAP member)".
