Looking In (Mastered)

A summertime fling being obsessively led into autumn cuffs, “You too? Even you? (2020 Brut de Noirs)” is a palpable temptation of sexy, spicy danger. A mysterious match of passion struck. Masked intensity steaming from above devilish flames. An unspoken need-to-know and a rebellion of the unknown known. All of this, with deeply underlying distrust and the impending doom of betrayal. Distrust due to related trauma. Betrayal because of a deep need for communication within the romantic connection. It’s a muleta of emotions that make you wanna dance the matador of your heart to bloody death.

Part of my inspiration was Bachata, The Bay, and LA. Recently, I got into Anthony Santos and was moved by “Corazón Culpable”. It set my heart ablaze. I had the instrumental for “You too? Even you?” since 2020, unsure what to do with it, until I heard Anthony. I realised a need for expression of cloaked, brewing passion.
