An authority on little-known gems, Chee (@OrganicChee) has been quietly but ceaselessly working on bringing forgotten music to the light, as shown in his essential book Obscure Sound (reissued in 2020). He is mostly found behind the counter at his record store Organic Music, in a quiet suburb of Tokyo. His mix (first hour) is a quiet journey across genres and worlds, representative of what is one of Chee's most well-known fields of expertise, a beautiful and mysterious zone sometimes called "listening music". 

知る人ぞ知る名曲の権威、Chee Shimizuは、忘れられた音楽を世に送り出すべく、静かにしかし絶え間なく活動を続けてきました。その成果は、2020年に再版された彼の重要な著書『Obscure Sound』にも表れています。
彼の姿は主に、東京の閑静な郊外にある自身のレコード店Organic Musicのカウンター越しに見ることができます。
前半のCheeさんのミックスは、ジャンルと世界を超えた静かな旅です。これは、彼の最もよく知られた専門分野の一つを代表するもので、時に「リスニング・ミュージック」と呼ばれる美しく神秘的な領域を体現しています。

Coming from backgrounds of true musicianship, organic sounds clearly have a special place in their hearts, paying homage to the golden age foundations of dancefloor music when studio musicians inhabited recording studios. A lush selection of pre-MIDI wealth with some early synth and drum machine nuances skillfully mixed in this beautiful weekend kickstarter package.
Oro Negro is a duo formed by Das Falco and More Lotion ; musicians, DJs, designers, and producers from Tijuana. Active since 2014 with a selection leaning toward dance tracks produced between 1977 and 1993, they have managed to position themselves in the electronic music party circuit on both sides of Mexico's northern border. Co-Founders of Discoteca Seducción, residents of Marko Disko (2022), and also residents of the mythical Sunday Sunday party, Oro Negro are no strangers to a tasteful dancefloor. Tijuana Strong. Jordi, aka Llupe, and Nico, aka DJ Aficionado, share quite a few things in common: Catalan origins, a love for all things Balearic, the same street in Berlin and shows on Refuge Worldwide. They both certainly appreciate a good party, too.

Organizing parties and playing together was a natural direction for them. Their party series, Orbita, launched earlier this year, aims to create ample space for quality adult dance music. It seems to be working well, as they’ve been fortunate to host guests like Apiento, Tom of England, and Sianza, to name a few.

This mix is a recording from the last Orbita party, held at Fitzroy on what many described as the last day of summer in Berlin. For those who remember, it was a dreamy and sensual Sunday, filled with music that sounded just right in that room. It felt nice and cosy and the dancers seemed to be momentarily free from any kind of Monday angst. Playful and light, yet seriously good. Feel the magic, times two.

For this Hunter’s Moon in Aries Soria has cooked up something seductive. Equal parts deep, bumping and dreamy, moving through ambient, house and dub techno, Soria's mix is inspired by the main character from "A Spy in the House of Love" by Anais Nin. Here the protagonist bathes at night in moonlight as one would in the sun, cultivating a power from its rays which pulls in and frightens the other characters around her. A reminder of the strength we have when we allow ourselves access to our own sensuality.
