Detroit Grand Pubahs (Paris The Black Fu and The Mysterious Mr O) restart their @pubahs-engineroom imprint with a series of reissues and reimaginings.

Their "Thanks For Coming EP: was originally released in 2008 as a precursor to their "Nuttin’ Butt Funk" album.  This special 2020 remastered version includes the original track, as well as The Advent and Steve Bug remixes which were featured on the 2008 release, but is now accompanied by a new remix from Techmarine Bottom Feeders who recently released their debut album on EPMmusic.

Radio Slave drops full release of 2019’s mysterious white label, ’Silent Witness’.

Originally released in the summer of 2019 under the name Silent Witness and titled ‘Year Of The Snake’, Radio Slave’s ’Silent Witness’ is a two track single that sees the British artist delve into his late eighties/early nineties bleep influences. The title track’s insistent, no-messing staccato groove and tightly looped discordant tones fall firmly into the ‘face melter’ area of the racks while the flip’s ‘Year of the Snake’ takes a moodier path that screams late night tension.

With a three part LP and numerous singles slated for release, 2020 is shaping up to be Radio Slave’s aka Matthew Edwards most productive year to date. From a producer with hundreds of tracks and countless aliases and side projects where the quality threshold never dips, it’s an incredible feat.

Colorcode Records co-founder Monomood provides his first full EP on the newly formed German imprint entitled ‘Rumble & Rave’. 

Berlin based artist Monomood is a varied producer who cannot be tied down to one genre or style but let’s just say he does a bit of everything with fine-tuned intricacy and creativity. After dwelling on the Drum & Bass station for a while, Monomood has truly taken off into the future: orbiting the wide cosmos of dubbed out techno sounds and everything in between. His releases on Etui Records and most recently his newly formed Colorcode imprint with Roman Lindau and Sascha Rydell, carries us into the complex world of echoed chords and spacy delays with hypnotic excellency. 

‘Don’t Hold Back’ opens up with punchy kicks, electrifying vocals and fizzing modulations that roll with sublime vibrancy.

Prolific American artist Jon Hester returns to Rekids for the first instalment of his new album, ‘Converge’, this September.

Jon Hester grew up in the Midwest US, living in Chicago and Minneapolis while taking musical cues from Detroit. Initially he was a dancer, and later transitioned to the decks with a refined understanding of what it takes to move a club. He progressed to hosting his own events, holding residencies, and working at a record shop, and now brings his physical rhythms and adventurous drums to his productions, with output on respected labels such as Transmat, Deeply Rooted, Dystopian, Klockworks, and LET Recordings, not to mention multiple appearances on Rekids.

Continuing to show fine form on his debut album, Hester now serves up eight of his signature house and techno fusions with plenty of his trademark directness across four sides of vinyl. The superb 'Sending Signals' opens the album with scene-setting synth modulations full of sci-fi atmosphere. It's the calm before the storm as 'Metropolitan' then immediately sets off on a cantering groove that is eventually run through with busy, jazzy piano keys that bring the soul.

'Haze' has excellently taught kick drums with hypnotic synth tones adding colour, and features Hester on saxophone. When 'Rain' comes, things grow darker and more menacing, with shakers and urgent stabs keeping you moving at a slick pace.

The second half of this compelling record features the loopy punches and pulses of the super smooth 'Dreamstate', beautifully cosmic and widescreen techno of 'Free' and pensive but urgent deep electro of standout cut 'Flex.' Last of all, 'Equinox' is lit up with distant chords which bring a far-sighted gaze to the rolling, robust kicks.

Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with four-track EP ‘Control Your Mind’, featuring a remix from Marcel Dettmann.

Previously appearing on Rekids in 2019 with his ‘Liberate Drums’ EP, Mathias Kaden makes his second appearance on Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards’ label with four original tracks of razor sharp material, as well as a remix from Berghain resident Dettmann.

‘Control Your Mind’ opens with the impeccably produced title track, an electro flecked roller. Featuring hypnotic synth work and subtle automated inflections, the cut effortlessly glides, peppered with the occasional titular vocal refrain from Sven Väth puncturing the groove. Shifting into 4/4 territory is ‘Conviction’, a restrained but stunningly effective track that makes full use of memorable off-beat synth stabs and shimmering 909 percussion to constantly drive the track forward.

On the flip, Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann turns up the heat with his remix of ‘Control Your Mind’. Filtering the vocals, the MDR and BAD MANNERS boss also delivers a resonant bassline that works in tandem with knocking percussion, as creeping pads morph and evolve over the duration of the track, creating a trippy and propulsive banger.

Classic dub techno aesthetics are front and centre in ‘Substance’, a track destined for the golden hours between late at night and early in the morning, while finishing the package in fine style, the digital only ‘Anticipation’ showcases Kaden’s skill in crafting a killer peak time track, adding a welcome bonus of yet another weapon for USBs worldwide.

Teksupport Records is a New York based imprint ran by Kareem Cali that has already released music by Markus Suckut, Andre Kronert, Mike Dehnert, Steve Parker and Roberto Clementi amongst others.

The new release comes from Mink, an exciting new American producer who recently appeared on a VA for On Edge Society and now steps out with a full EP with three original works.

Supplying the remix is P.Leone the head of E-Missions imprint from Brooklyn and who now lives in Berlin. His music has been released on Radio Slave's Rekids, Ellen Allien's BPitch and Spencer Parker's Work Them, as well as collaborating with Dustin Zahn for example.

Track three "Warp" steps down into a slower paced ride focusing on a funky rhythm and spaced out sounds that add a blanket of electrified pulses and interesting use of acid tones.
