'Atenea' is the main attraction here, with sublime melodies and gated pads punctuated by urgent rave stabs and a tough but grooving bassine. 

Support comes from 'Come With Me', which marries a climbing riff with a chunky bottom end to devastating effect.

The main cut "Better Times" features an awesome vocal from: Joe Foresta which is an impressive hook for the dancefloor.

Incl. there is a Remix by Ario (Desolat) who took things into a more serious panorama with a Techy interpretation full of bassy grooves and a fresh approach.

It’s been 11 years since we released the first Spektre production on Noir Music and I’ve been a fan of their music for even longer. 
So it’s a great honor to have them back on the label with this amazing Shadowline release. 
The UK duo is currently making some serious noise in techno-world and well deserved as they keep shooting out great music.
 On this specific release I wanted the guys to show off their excellent production skills, so we get both their in your face, raw and unpolished sound with the acid opener “The Maze” and the more trippy, afterhours hypnotic title track “Shadowline”. “Planet Noir” sits nicely in between with Spektre’s hardhitting beats and signature melodies.
 On top of that we got an incredible remix of “The Maze” by Robert S (PT) who made the acid-journey more minimal and underground.
  I’ve had these tracks for quite some time and I don’t get tired of playing these. In the fast-moving techno- industry that’s saying a lot.
 I am honored and super happy to have the guys back on my label.

Following the internationally celebrated release of their debut album The Signs Within in 2017, burgeoning Japanese techno duo Drunken Kong look to kick off a brand new decade in emphatic fashion, with the release of their eagerly-anticipated sophomore long player, Where We Start.

Out now via Christian Smith's esteemed Tronic Music imprint, Where We Start marks the second full-length opus from the Tokyo-based outfit, whose impressive catalogue of unique techno productions have also been homed by the likes of Terminal M, Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent and Session Womb to name a few.

Featuring a total of sixteen diverse cuts, including thirteen brand new Drunken Kong originals, two recent collaborations with Mainz-based outfit Teenage Mutants and one exclusive new collab with Tronic head honcho Christian Smith, Where We Start is Drunken Kong's most extensive body of work to date, and goes a long way in showcasing the inexhaustible creativity of one of the most prolific double acts in techno right now. 'Our new album, 'Where We Start' was built around an idea and inspiration that came from our new stage in life, which was parenting. Rebūke returns to Drumcode with a trio of timeless dancefloor weapons.

The Irishman’s ‘Rattle’ was a standout of 2019, judged by DJ Mag as their no.22 top track of the year and is etched in the Drumcode discography as one of the most original releases to date. A valued part of Adam Beyer’s extended collective; he would have made his Drumcode event debut at WMC in Miami this March. Without a doubt, a sophomore EP was always on the cards.

‘Instatik’ kicks the work into gear, a rugged, reverb-heavy cut with industrial drums that pump like pistons and an undulating synth effect that makes you feel like you’re on a turbo-charged rollercoaster. ‘Livewire’ has the trademark Rebūke brain-scrambling stamp on it, a flurry of steelyard percussion bring the track to life, before a low-end melody swells to attention, rubbing shoulders deliciously with driving drumlines, for an uplifting second half. The title track ‘Obscurity’ is a dark slice of techno funk, filled with synapse-tickling arpeggios, before a rollicking groove takes hold and launches the track home at full-flight. Another thrilling and innovative release to add to the Rebūke canon.

“I think 2020 will go down in history as the craziest year of our lifetime. The future is still pretty unknown right now and things are drastically changing week to week. With that in mind, I felt ‘Obscurity’ would be a fitting title for my second Drumcode EP. It represents the state of being unknown, unclear or difficult to understand – feelings I’m sure most of us are going through right now.  Most the tracks aside from ‘Livewire’ were written in quarantine; ‘Livewire’ was written right before the virus shut the world down, in a hotel room in Lima, Peru in January. This EP is my favourite to date as I think it shows a different side to my musical palette, whilst still developing the signature sound heard in all my music.” - Rebūke
