Ever since i enriched my quarantine with Felix's mixes i had my mind set at having him on this show.
Well, Felix was kind enough to record us this mix on first request.
Felix Tapes is a selector and producer based in Amsterdam. His musical range goes from African funk and disco to Amazon exotic vibes. And more than his mixes, his biggest contribution to music, in my opinion, comes from producing african edits. 
He is a part of the ethno kult community, a very cool project that you can check out here to learn more : https://ethnokult.weebly.com/ . 
His next project will come from collaboration with his friend Jasper (artist name Kurlz 727). It is a upcoming EP for the "Echoes from Venus" label. So, use this mix to pass time while waiting :D.

Gimme A Break Records have proudly announced their first release of 2024, teaming up with London-based producer An Avrin to deliver his “Spelunkerer” EP, a collection of mind-boggling leftfield-club productions accompanied by an equally spectacular remix from Leeds-based Stolen Velour. With previous releases on Scuffed Recordings, Slippery Sounds and Erbium Records, An Avrin has developed an unmistakably unique production style characterised by clean sampling, intricate detail, heavy bass and contorting rhythms. Alongside his highly-acclaimed label releases, An Avrin has also garnered substantial attention from the underground club scene through his self-releases and edits, with his flip of Darude’s “Sandstorm” dominating the summer DJ circuit in 2023.

 Following a deceptively innocent introduction, “Conduit” descends into a raucous leftfield take on the Breakbeat / UKG crossover style that has dominated the UK’s underground club scene in recent times.

PREMIERE: An Avrin - Conduit [Gimme A Break]

Gimme A Break Records have proudly announced their first release of 2024, teaming up with London-based producer An Avrin to deliver his “Spelunkerer” EP, a collection of mind-boggling leftfield-club productions accompanied by an equally spectacular remix from Leeds-based Stolen Velour. With previous releases on Scuffed Recordings, Slippery Sounds and Erbium Records, An Avrin has developed an unmistakably unique production style characterised by clean sampling, intricate detail, heavy bass and contorting rhythms. Alongside his highly-acclaimed label releases, An Avrin has also garnered substantial attention from the underground club scene through his self-releases and edits, with his flip of Darude’s “Sandstorm” dominating the summer DJ circuit in 2023.

An Avrin once again showcases his inventive production on GABD014. “Cobbert Webb” kickstarts the EP with a monstrous collision of rolling breakbeats and growling basslines, interspersed with Baile-influenced rhythms which only add to the track’s dramatic tension. An Avrin firmly puts his stamp on the modern Electro sound via the EP’s title-track, swiftly followed by the eclectic “Bup” which fuses Techno and Electro drum programming with Grime vocal samples. Following a deceptively innocent introduction, “Conduit” descends into a raucous leftfield take on the Breakbeat / UKG crossover style that has dominated the UK’s underground club scene in recent times. Stolen Velour closes out GABD014 with a spectacular remix of the EP’s title-track. In line with An Avrin’s own disregard for genre boundaries, the Leeds-based producer fuses UK Funky rhythms with Grime bass patches to perfectly complement the diverse sonic palette demonstrated across the EP.

After a short hiatus at the beginning of 2024, Out Of Sorts couldn’t be more excited to return to the digital series with four  club-ready tracks of rugged, grinding grooves courtesy of Newcastle-based Lace Atone.

‘Zonal Decline’, a dark and layered track which combines razor sharp percussion, a rumbling bassline and a familiar vocal chop to create a dense, atmospheric club track. When asked about the opening track Lace Atone told us, “The droned out, percussive synth draws a subtle influence from the Robert Hood, Jeff Mills era of 90s techno, think those dark, ever-repeating chords.”

This is a relatively tender mixtape, mainly filled with chilled, downtempo tunes. Reason is because my girlfriend started reading next to me and I didn’t want to disturb her .
