I first heard about the Inverted Jenny in the 1985 movie Brewster's Millions and was fascinated by the story of how a printing error could lead to the creation of the most prized error in philately.

For the song I envisioned a sentient Jenny, who worked for the US Postal service during the week (as they actually did). Part of the postal services unofficial motto is included in the second verse: 

'Neither snow nor rain (nor heat) nor gloom of night stays thee.'

At weekends she goes off where she can be free to just enjoy being her true-self, an aerobatic plane.

Her posterity is guaranteed when she is caught on camera, and subsequently a stamp, flying upside down.

The song is a celebration of a trailblazer with the courage to follow her own passion.

The melody soars and dives like an acrobatic plane.
