Now, some cats might think slangin beats is all about showmanship, flamin' lights, and girls prancing around in cages. Bullshit! It's about feelin' the rhythm, understandin' the pulse of the crowd. You gotta know when to drop the bass like a brick on a bender, when to ease 'em in with a smooth groove like a getaway driver navigatin' back alleys.

See, I ain't just playin' records, I'm tellin' a story. One minute you're in a grimey warehouse in the industrial district and the next you're in a dust-drenched playa, esplanade party - all without leavin' the god damnclub. And the best part? You don't need a passport, just a good pair of dancin' shoes and the willingness to let the music take you for a ride.

Some say Penny Wide Pupils is a bit of a gangster, a bit rough around the edges. Maybe so. But when the lights dim and the first beat drops, you won't be thinkin' about my manners, you'll be lost in the music, movin' your bits like you won the lottery.

When CHIXY is on the bill, you know it's gonna be a party. Known for high-energy, bass-heavy sets, CHIXY aka Kelsey channels her sound from the trapical ratchetverse, seamlessly navigating global genres from rap to baile funk to UK club and beyond. Fusing many different voices and flavors, CHIXY stirs up an undeniably spicy sound (and a packed dance floor).  

Since starting her music career in 2021, CHIXY's been fortunate to play at well-known venues, festivals and parties across the US and beyond, and already has a few of her own productions floating around the sonic stratosphere. 

Based in Portland, OR, but originally from the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN, Kelsey's been privileged to travel extensively, and her selects reflect exposure to many different soundscapes and people. She’s particularly fond of femme-forward rap, music in Spanish and Portuguese, sounds from the African Diaspora and basically anything underground that makes your chest vibrate. Heavily influenced by years living off and on in Mexico City, she also spent several summers working the Amphitheatre Stage at Shambhala Music Festival in Canada, where she witnessed dozens of up-and-coming bass connoisseurs alike.
