This is definitely the darkest track I ever made. It's named after the Black Sabbath song which features a seminal breakbeat used in countless hip hop and electronic tracks. I'm a huge Sabbath fan so I always wanted to use this break. I was in a pretty dark and confusing time of my life when I wrote this, so I'm not surprised that this is the motif that had me inspired enough to finish a song. I was just getting back on my feet after a stint of living in a van followed by a failed attempt to move overseas, so I went out and splurged on an ikea desk, chair, and $30 computer speakers to get going with the electronic music again (and I still have those speakers!). Some of the vocals are my own, and the barking didgeridoo sound which ushers the song into its second half is the only time I've ever used a recording of myself playing the didg. Sometimes it's really cathartic to just embrace the darkness and stare beyond the wall of sleep. Not always, but sometimes.

Roda Sona is a musical event that is held annually in the town of Roda de Berà  (Tarragona, Spain), and that consists of the performance of various discjockeys resident in the area. This is an hour taken from the Aug 24, 2019 performance, one hour of the best funky remixed with house, session located in the seventh national position and 84 in the world in the Mixcloud lists, in October 2019.

This song was initially produced on the heels of the great dubstep wave in the early 2010s, running utterly contrary to the popular sentiment in electronic music at that time.

I felt a very strong pull toward more classic sounds, so I made a point to fuse rock drums, guitar, and most importantly bass guitar, into a predominantly electronic package. Tapping into positive forces the best I could, my intent was to create an uplifting feeling that could be communicated without words. After remixing/remastering the track in late 2020 and reflecting on the pain and hardships we have all undoubtedly experienced in recent times, I’ve made a bold decision and dared to hope again.

Hope for love, for health, for peace, and for fellowship as we emerge from this darkness with a newfound wisdom. Despite my reluctance to hope, for fear of disappointment, I would rather muster up the courage to push through the fear and reclaim that positivity I discovered all those years ago. I hope this tune finds you well and that you might shift your gaze along with me toward Brighter Days.
