Dreary

Through thick and thin, everyone needs those whom they can count on. As in life, the music can get dark and then the light shines through, as we rise to go on with the help of our friends and loved ones.

As you may notice, the cover art harkens back to a familiar cover from 1973 and that is intentional, because Andrea and Rebecca are strongly influenced by music from that time period. Many fans of 8000 Miles’ first album, Aggregate, have remarked on that influence. The title Crystal Confetti represents the clarity 8000 Miles is honing in their duo’s style and the contrast of weighted moods and flying inspirations.

Went away for a few days and stayed at a house in middle of nowhere, there was nothing around but cows, on the side in the house was a little information sheet about the place, the lyrics are loosely based on that.

Cows (Wild Ones)

Sugarloaf Hill is one of the Malvern Hills here in England, between the two highest peaks of that range. I have walked it a lot and it always gives me a melancholy feeling, hence this song.

I wrote this song in 2013 that was inspired by purchasing online song reviews.  When I looked deeper into what these reviews actually were I realized I had been duped.  Some of the so called reviews were horrendous and created by anyone willing to sign up to be a reviewer with the hopes of making some money by the amount of reviews generated. Please be careful what you pay for as a service online for your music.  I had a blast playing guitars on this song that included both rhythm and lead and reminded me of the good old country rock and roll I love.  I also enjoyed my own version of trash talking in a song and I laugh every time I listen.  Oh the review that talked about the banjo I played was ridiculous as was the comment about Cher and Elvis. There was no banjo on that song however I did start to fantasize I was the secret love child of a fling between Cher and Elvis until I realized Cher would have been only eleven to have me 😂

Grateful To My Maker

It's a blessing to be able to create music and if someone enjoys my work, that's icing on the cake! All blessings come from God.

As a retired DOD Civil Service worker, I have time to record some. I have been recording at home for around 23 years and some of my tracks are very old.  I‘ve had 50+ years in bands playing music of many types. I still play the club scene 3 to 4 times a month. Life is good!

I'm a Guitarist who likes to write, record and sing many styles of music. Please check out my tracks. I'm also enjoying the occasional collaborations.  Meeting some good friends on here and continuing to grow. Thank you for listening!
