Awe, Robert! I get so mentally caught up in your sonic schemes! I had that cinematic gut feeling there was a stalker trying to get at its next victim... evokes that sort of paramount visualization... e.g.: The Killer That Stalked New York (1950, USA) Evelyn Keyes - Film Noir reel going in my head. Just note that wherever this goes, there is going to be a next victim. LOL>>Love the suspenseful build of intrigue...Powerfully mesmerizing with the authentic flute's voice! You deserve red carpet & a sonic IFMCA award! Long Standing Ovation!

I love the dissonant chords and melodies working against each other. I sometimes use piano and flute but it is only synthesized flute and a keyboard can't breath life into it the same way so it can never sound the same as someone playing the instrument. I can't imagine writing this piece - or even hearing it and making it work the way you do. It's fabulous. And I love the piano, lightly skipping over the keys so quickly. The dynamics work so well together.

Meadow Spring (Woodwind Quintet No. 5)

"Noir Suite" is a four-movement work for Wind Quintet. The intent of each movement, or "scene", is to  convey an ethos similar to that often found in the 1940's detective movie genre where the musical style is dramatic and often expressionist.

As an Occupational Therapist I worked in the field of mental health for about 40 years. I have also lives with anxiety my entire life which poorly led me in that career path. I have seen the devastation of mental illness and addiction in terms of what it does to the individual and family. Good for James that he found a path to recovery.
