This track is my very personal take at the Koan "Hear the Clap of your Hand". My lyrics version (https://soundcloud.com/konrad-spittelberg/the-clap-of-one-hand-pp) might make things clearer. (yes, this is my sneaky strategy to guide you from one song to another :-))

Compositionwise, the track is roughly split into two equal parts. The first part introduces its cinematic theme in the very beginning, taking it thereafter up several times with slightly different accentuations and rhythms which gives it a fresh feel with different highlighted nuances in each repetition. Several interludes contribute to the cinematic feeling. 

The second part, starting @1.53 starts by a more Jazzy version of the main theme. However, from 2.20 onwards, it is very restricted in its harmonies - only two harmonies are used from thereon until the end, C major and C# major. The tension arises purely from the rhythmic changes (such as the shift from 4/4 to 3/4 @3.17 and back), climaxing at the end.

On our recent trip to Italy, one of the places we stayed was Monterosso, one of the 5 villages in Cinque Terre. From our patio, we were able to see Il Gigante looking out over the ocean. I am pleased to announce this new music collaboration, Il Gigante di Monterosso - Feat: Sergei Govorov, celebrating the beauty of Italy.  Listen to Sergei's music on Spotify and Apple Music.
Sergei Govorov completed his doctoral degree at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow with the highest honors.  In 2022, Sergei moved to the United States.  Sergei's repertoire ranges from classical saxophone to avant-garde, jazz, and pop. He has performed over 4,000 concerts worldwide.  For the last year I have been writing music for the sax and piano duo, Govorov & De Groot.  Sergei Govorov and Britta De Groot have performed my music in Colorado and have future plans for more concerts and possible recordings.

From memory, from retreat, hope begins to stir. 
Gently, it awakens— a fragile flame in the quiet.
The motif of fate, destined to return again and again in the subsequent sections, is heard here : timid, tentative, solitary, spoken softly by solo piano. Around it, the orchestra lingers in the shadows, barely present, swaying with distant indifference— as if holding its breath.
This passage folds into a tangled duet—violin and piano caught in a fragile slow dance. A metaphor for the inner discord wrought by human solitude: each instrument circling the other, never quite touching, their melodies twisting like vines seeking light. Yet in the hush of final moments, they find each other at last— a tentative chord, shared, echoing the stillness from which they came. 
This section concludes the 2nd movement of the Symphony ("Memory of Retreat", Suite No. 8 - No.17).
The subsequent tracks will deal with the Beauty of Life, with the "Spell of Nature".

Legacy Broken is a cinematic orchestral concept album that explores the psychological weight of legacy, family, and emotional silence. Blending restrained elegance with hypnotic minimalism, each track unfolds like a room in a haunted memory palace—echoes of conversations, legal inheritances, betrayals, and unresolved grief.

Muted strings, fractured piano motifs, trembling horns, and emotionally conflicted harmonic structures form a sonic language of unspoken tension and decaying tradition. The arrangements resist resolution, allowing silence, repetition, and space to carry as much meaning as melody.
