Marques has been instrumental in putting Los Angeles on the dance music map. He has given LA’s dance scene the coveted credibility in the electronic music industry to rival the likes of New York and Miami. He is one of the few DJ's that have managed to cross pollinate audiences and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors.

*Songs With Words* — It's been three long years since I've released a set and while I don't know what I've been waiting for, luckily something about this one felt a bit different. During a week of relentless work, this was my first moment of play. As the clock struck midnight on Tuesday evening we were in the midst of a wild ride: from Diplo and Carlita at sunset, to Unders at sunrise, I had the pleasure of bridging the night amongst a sea of friends and familiar faces. Sometimes in the land of singing computers, it's nice to hear a few songs with words.

We journeyed gradually from old funk, reggae, and Brazilian songs to the deeper dancey vibe you'll hear in this mix.  The day ended dramatically, with a surprise rainstorm, mini party in the DJ booth, and a giant rainbow to top it all off!  Huge thanks to the folks at Maxa for welcoming us <3
