I work as a freelance music consultant, writing about, editing and producing (audio, digital and print)  classical, contemporary classical and band music. Through PHM Publishing and Production I am making available a range of  band, orchestral and vocal music. Much of this I have edited or realised myself, but I am particularly proud to be able to publish hitherto unknown music by the innovative brass composer of the 20th century, Wilfred Heaton, audio files and performances of whose music feature here.

DJ, Producer and Multi-Instrumentalist

Though its DNA touches on classic soul, rock, disco, and acid house, London-based producer and DJ Marcus Marr makes music for today. Marr’s work - released through DFA Records, Detail and New Finger Records - has been championed by Annie Mac, BBC Radio One, Pitchfork, SPIN, Clash Magazine and The Fader.

A regular at Berlin’s famed nightclub Berghain/Panorama Bar since 2014, Marcus Marr recently released the Familiar Five EP and performed a string of co-headline dates in North America with The Juan Maclean. He has previously appeared with the likes of Hot Chip, Floating Points, The Black Madonna and Optimo, and has performed at the highly-regarded MoMa PS1 Warm Up series, Day For Night Festival, and Art Basel Miami. Marcus has also contributed mixes to Beats in Space and Boiler Room

Dorothy Gates was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Like her fellow countryman, George Bernard Shaw, she believes in the power of art to see your soul, and transform the world. Dorothy received her Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and Trombone Performance from Queens University Belfast, Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Michigan and her PhD in Composition from the University of Salford. Her principal composition teachers were Kevin Volans, George Wilson, Joseph Turrin and Peter Graham.

Jonathan Rea studied music at Cambridge University, winning the Rima Alamuddin prize for performance, and is now active as a conductor, pianist, composer and producer, with clients including BBC, RTE, Belfast City Council, the Northern Ireland Assembly, Gettymusic and Rend Collective. He has conducted several programmes for BBC Songs of Praise, in which many of his arrangements featured. He is also in demand as a seminar speaker, focusing on worship, music and church life. He is Creative Director of New Irish Arts, a thriving organisation which presents Christianity through the Arts in Ireland.
