Krystian Shek's newest full-length album 'Suddenly', is an opus that is as futuristic as it is celestial and tribal. Sweeping melodies rise and soar while rhythms resonate heavily through meaningful and moving chords. It explores spacious atmospheres with brief field recordings and dub laden beats that support a very airy and flighty sounds of rapturous melodies and spiritual offerings. Showcasing seven pieces of futuristic themes, 'Suddenly' these exudes a deft touch with processed production where layers are too many to be counted while remnants of rhythm show themselves more after multiple listens. 
 
Krystian Shek has been releasing music for almost 30 years now and you can find a cornicopia of various styles and genres under his name which shows off his versatility. 'Suddenly', features a few of the genre's he is most known for the past decade in ambient and dub. But again, he finds inspiration in a multitude of other subgenres such as drone, soundtrack, field recording and dub techno. Released on the fantastic Italian label Rohs! Records, this album is sure to stir up an emotional response from everyone who hears it.
 
'Sunday Morning' opens up the album with and not only set's the mood but introduces you to the space within. Peaceful water ambience which quickly fades after the first chord wash. This track is drenched in dub and melodic elements which crystalize and reverberate throughout the sound spectrum. A euphoric feeling elevates as the track expands into an airy atmosphere of gentle calmness.
The title track 'Suddenly', harkens back to Krystian's trance background with a blissful buildup up and break that sounds like one part Oliver Lieb and one part Wolfgang Voigt. Mesmerizing and groundbreaking, this dub expose is sure to grab people's attention. A unique and successful union not just only of styles but of energy, direction and what is possible breaking through any dub parameters. And if that rack didn't push the boundaries enough for you, then '[Dub]ai' surely will. What starts off with dialogue in the airport with gate flight announcement recordings soon dumps you into an amazing boundless stratosphere with a wicked beat. It doesn't end there as angelic voices echo out to an amazing peak. Truely, a shimmering work by Krystian. One of those early picks for best track on the album from those who have heard the early sessions. 'Probably' builds off that momentum with another heavy and menacing dub bassline that feature some far reaching chords and soaring melody off in the distance. 'Among Them' is a cinematic opera into the future which certainly culls Vangelis-type vibes ala Blade Runner. Coming in at over 9 minutes in length, this epic piece is the backbone of the album's overall feel. A soaring piece of space music that is as moving as it is triumphant. 'Here for you' is perhaps the most moving piece on the album and it is sheer goosebump material. An amazing soundtrack for a post-apocalyptic world who regrets human kind's decisions. A tear jerking and emotional piece that wins over your heart and your ears. Lastly, 'Remained' is a gentle outro
that encapsulates the overall mood of the album. Powerful, visual, imaginative and dynamic. To just categorize this as an ambient or dub album would truly be an understatement. A sonic exploration into dub with a sci-fi storyline might be a bit more accurate description but even that short changes it.
'Suddenly' is a remarkable and life-changing listen. Available on CD and digital with cover artwork featuring an image of the exclusive for this release oil on canvas painting by Brenda Rodriguez.

“Reverie” portrays fragments of a memory of a penurious old lady who once lived beneath the watchtower, in an abandoned house with her cow. She was enslaved and mistreated by her siblings after her husband passed away a few years back. She led a life of misery and loneliness, but one cannot help but wondering about her past life and hoping that sometime in earlier years, she was happy and enjoying her days.

This is a tribute to this random human being whose life didn’t matter and whose memory is fading over the years. It’s a celebration of her life and a fiction of what could it be.

A fig tree stands up the hill, surrounded by a herd of cattle chanting melodies and playing the chimes.

"Invierno has (as the title may already suggest) two topics or themes it is mainly influenced by:
The country of Spain and the season of winter. It was recorded in the winter of 2021/22, and
the Spanish influence is founded mainly on the listening-experience of Rodrigo's Concerto de
Aranjuez. I tried to transform the melancholic summer-atmosphere of this beautiful work into
the winter season by using some tiny fragments, granulating them and communicating with
them via my modular synth. The tracks developed in a constant flow.
The Rags of Winter are two pieces created right afterwards in the same atmosphere with the
use of the modular again and a Ciat Lonbarde Sidrax as a second instrument.
I am glad that this album, which is quite dear to me, found a home on the beautiful Rohs
label, and would like to thank Andrea Porcu many times for his care about it."

This album is very personal musical work by Ryosuke Miyata, Non-Binary musician living in Kanagawa, Japan.
He juggles the roles of a musician and an office worker, but he has a history of mental illness,
psychosomatic disease, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and schizophrenia due to overwork.
His feelings get hurt in working with organization but creations are the heart’s nourishment.
“Sanatorium” is the medical treatment record by himself.
In other words, the method of maintaining a balance between work and his personal feelings.

The album expresses the cross-relationship between the idea of inner work and farm work, which was inspired by Murakami's experience in the Japanese countryside, where he stayed for several months in 2022, learning from organic rice cultivation and forest restoration. 

Each song is based on stories and teachings he learnt from the farmers, as well as the existence of the living creatures and plants he observed. Daily activities in the field are full of repetition and unpredictability, which inspired him to think of the countryside ("inaka”, in Japanese) as a place of internality, or inner place. 

The sounds are composed of a combination of acoustic instruments with an experimental texture process generated by some guitar pedals and a tape loop process. The music constructions are a mixture of some drone/ambient texture and the influence of jazz/ Brazilian choro chord progressions, using Brazilian classical/steel 7 string guitar, electric guitar, bass, analog/digital synth and voice.

On November 5, 2022, Daniel Carter and Stefan Christoff improvised together at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, a community space, with strong connections to migrant justice activism, that is also a temporary home for many newly arrived asylum seekers some of whom sat to listen to the musical exchange. 
This session was the first encounter between Carter and Christoff that resulted in musical explorations. Remaining from this session were a couple of audio fragments which Christoff shared with a network of musicians globally who remixed and reimagined them. In Astronomy is the resulting album.
Thank you to Leina Bocar for helping to arrange the recording space, to Devin Brahja Waldman for helping to facilitate the connection with Daniel Carter, to Juan Carlos Ruiz at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for welcoming this project, to Jessie Stein for hosting me in NY on the weekend of this session and to all the awesome participating artists!

The sound dramaturgy of 'Unity' starts with the album title, which refers to the strength of remaining united and constantly rooted in the present and the surrounding space. This release is a continuum of the first cassette for Lontano series from February 2023, that now shows its second side into a “non-song” shape. Conceptually part of the storytelling, memories without a geographical location are energy of the whole creature, in an eternal and abstract way, as the record moves in its full length.
 
Passing through different emotional listening signals, without ever touching a clearly defined goal or target. Structurally sculpting a sound of electro-acoustic nature, no coordinates, whether this tends more towards experimental, research, or soundtrack music: a daily practice in recording, drawing ideas and intuitions with the sound media.
 
Recorded at WORM Sound Studios in Rotterdam (3, 6, 8, 10), in a small flat in Rimini (1, 2, 5, 7 and 11 together with Jacopo Buda's trumpet), while playing at Imbarchino del Valentino in Turin (9), a forgotten recording (4).

"Forgotten Stories" is envisioned as a collection of ten short stories, centered around the theme of rediscovering and shedding light on ten particular narratives that have been obscured by the passage of time. The loops utilised in the creation of this collection were recorded over a span of five years in France, captured on tape. The mixing process took place throughout 2023, incorporating additional elements such as field recordings and shortwave radio signals.

"Massimo and Rocco have been friends since their teens. Both shared a sonic connection through active listening and the exchange of music in local broadcast transmissions. ...Alex says: Usually i feel the need to collect moments of inspiration, situations that brings me different circumstances in my life: sometimes a landscape or a simple composition of shapes or sounds.

“A manifestation is an object that clearly shows or embodies something abstract or theoretical” 

These are five untamed field recordings captured between the desolate streets of suburban Treviso in late June 2018. 
Five explorations of the secret language whispered by its houses and by the slow and mysterious movements of its inhabitants exhausted by the summer heat. 

Matter owns a hidden language, a dusty and ancient one. 
Sound is matter. 

Matter is a tactile manifestation of something that is higher, or at least something that lives hidden among the cracks of our everyday life. 

Something vast, which is capable of moving matter and space. 
Something speaking in codes. 

The movements captured in this work are sometimes brusque, sometimes more tired and dragged. 

These are five declarations of love towards a more real world of truth, a world that is hidden but that somehow manifests itself continuously through the familiar sound of objects and everyday life. 

All five recordings are first single takes, recorded on worn out tape rolls found here and there. 

All recordings captured with a rusty Phillips portable tape recorder and a contact mic.

He began to use this alias at the age of 15, as a tribute to the sounds of nature that helped him rediscover inner peace. The intention behind Purl is to be an expression of the serenity and depth of our natural state.
In support of the original tracks "Slow Poem" and "Cellar Door", other 7 artists have re-imaginated and reworked the original two tracks, in vinyl order: Segue, Lingua Lustra, Mind Over MIDI, Wanderwelle, Rhucle, Docetism, Stray Theories."
