At first "TECHNOETHER" is part of the collective sound installation of the exhibition "Voices of Technobiocenoses", curated by Boris Shershenkov, which took place in October 2020 at the AiR.ITMO Gallery and is a 4-channel composition for 8-channel spatial audiosystem, the source samples for which were obtained using special diy-equipment, which helped to convert the electromagnetic and light signals of electrical equipment into sound.
The sources of initial signals were chosen as means of communication, which during the lockdown period became even more important for people - a computer, an Internet router, a smartphone, a radio station.
The introductory part of this composition was performed at the Acousmonium-2021 Festival on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on the Acousmonium multi-channel loudspeaker orchestra (over 60 speakers).
The workshop on managing and conducting Acousmonium was conducted by Diego Losa and Armando Balice.

TECHNOETHER

Since time immemorial, people have been surrounded by dangers and wild animals in their habitats. People endowed them with mystical powers and gave them names. Having endowed them with names and human qualities, fear retreated and turned into spirits of the place, becoming a faithful ally.
Mary Maka created the Endless Forest project, illustrating her world of fears. She gave each fear a name and a character, turning them into bright and friendly creatures.
Roman Klaudo was inspired by Mary's project and Amos Tutuola's novella, composing a spatial musical piece called Coven. It create a sound landscape of a Coven of forest spirits in Mary Macka's magical Endless Forest.
