In The Basic House

Made a dance version of the classic Axel F, some inspiration from the Axel F but has some other elements too.

The instrumental title tune, "Axel F", composed and performed by Harold Faltermeyer in the movie. 

Beverly Hills Cop is a 1984 American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Martin Brest, written by Daniel Petrie Jr. and starring Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley.

This track started out with the drum beat. Some of you might recognize the OP-1 synthesizer, from Teenage Engineering. I've used the stock drum sound called "Maple" (I think). Well, funny story: There was a blackout a while back where I live. I don't have a cell phone and during blackouts, there is absolutely nothing to do. So, I pulled out my OP-1 (Because it runs on batteries) and worked out this drum beat out of pure boredom. The next day I thought wow, that's not bad! So I recorded that, onto my DAW .

The Bass line is what Bob Ross would call a "Happy accident" in that it was not what I intended but just sorta happened.  It's played with a Keyboard controller through some Bass guitar VST on my computer.  I had an idea in mind, but it just wasn't working.  Then I started moving the MIDI notes around with my mouse, pretty randomly I must say, played it back and thought, wow, I don't know what I did, but I'm saving this, and won't touch it ever again.

Everything else came after that.

My linux won't boot so I'm presently forced to use Windows, and because of the bug in Soundcloud's system my account is all messed up when I don't use a VPN to connect which I am unable to do now... trying to get help from my VPN provider.  Because of this, and because I started working very long days I will be less present here.  Sorry, I'm trying.

Ever since the closing of this account by error by SC two or three months ago, this problem has remained unfixed.  Soundcloud and their AI are apparently still working on solving this and other problems with this account, and with my other account ; )

What I wrote below was heart felt but presumptuous and pretentious.  I would have to not be stupid myself to be allowed to claim such a thing.  More importantly though, I don't believe it is correct or accurate.  These people are probably not stupid but just don't care.  Justice is a collective thing and many if not most people seem to live in bubbles.  It is perhaps economic oppression which is responsible, they just don't have the resources, the time, the energy to be concerned about what lies behond that bubble.  It used to be fine but there's this thing they call globalization which makes this increasingly impractical or impossible.

mid January 2024:
Justice and vengeance are not the same.  Apparently most people are too stupid to see the difference.  Unfortunately it is not something unique to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and not unique to group conflicts.

What happened to intelligence?  Aren't we supposed to be the "intelligent" specie.
