The music industry (like many things) has changed greatly since I bought my first 45 record (Green Eyed Lady) at my hometown record shop in 1970. It would be very easy to lament over these changes (and I have.) I've played guitar and bass most of my life, in a wide variety of styles and genres, typically as a session producer and/or musician. During the 80's I worked in Philadelphia as a session musician on albums by Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Lou Rawls, Pieces of a Dream, The O'Jays, and the Jones Girls. I've recorded and produced hundreds of projects ranging from demos to a top ten charting song co written with Cynthia Biggs and Dexter Wansel.  I tend to favor harmonically complex music that's underpinned by great grooves, and I often hear the comment that my music is reminscent of Steely Dan.   For the past 20 years, I've focused on helping startup high tech companies and on writing, producing and recording music at Varuna Studio, my 24 track automated home studio.

Jazz/Fusion keyboard player, composer and producer.  Marketing, advertising, publishing and sales career.  Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.  Key musical influences include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, John McLaughlin and the Mahivishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Emily Remler, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Young, Buddy Guy, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire.   Former classical clarinet and piano player.  Unless noted, my music on SoundCloud was composed, recorded and performed using only keyboards.  An avid photographer.  Many covers here are my shots. An honors graduate from the Atlanta Institute of Music, David has eight published books with Hal Leonard, Cherry Lane, and Centerstream Publications.

A professional music instructor for two decades, David has taught hundreds of students across the U.S. - including classes for the National Guitar Workshop (NGW), Guitar Center Studios, School of Rock, and Ivy Tech College.

David has been featured in the pages of Premier Guitar, Guitar Player, Guitar World, and Guitar One magazines, and is a contributing writer for Guitar Player and Premier Guitar magazine.

In addition to his educational and teaching background, David has been a touring/performing musician for over half of his life, which began professionally at the age of 15.
David has shared the stage with an interesting array of bands and artists -from Cheap Trick, Quiet Riot, and Blue Oyster Cult, to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, and more.

David's taste and influence in music is wide-ranging and seemingly random, and he has specialized interests in rock, metal, blues, funk, jazz, classical, and acoustic music. 

David has independently recorded, released, and distributed nine instrumental guitar albums, including his most recent release 'Faded' - a dark and melodic instrumental guitar album .
  
His other albums include themed-tributes to HP Lovecraft (Cosmic Mind), Edgar Allan Poe (The Raven), and the video game DOOM (Terrestrial Planet). David released an authorized themed-tribute to the late-great artist HR Giger (Biomechanik Musik) in 2014.
