Father Funk is on a mission to reinvent funk for the bass generation. His genre-bending, boundary-breaking style fuses the soul of live music with the power of modern bass, taking him from underground bootlegs to festival main stages across the globe. With his self-produced, self-released album Funk The System on the horizon, he’s proving you don’t need a label or a formula to make music that truly moves people.

From playing D&B vinyl in his student bedroom to gigging round London as part of the eclectic Pogo DJs, Shakes has honed his DJ skills and now takes on the production world. While retaining influences from a mix of electro, ghetto house, garage and dubstep Shakes has initially gone back to his roots in the breakbeat scene with his music making.

He is a regular on the UK festival circuit having played at Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, Lovebox, Playgroup and the Nowhere festival in Spain. 

His sets are filled with an energising and dancefloor-friendly blend of Ghetto Funk, Electro, Breaks, Drum n Bass with occasional squirts of filthy Bass.

His music is uplifting and energetic and gives you a sense of fun and abandon. He can read a room well and always finds the funk that gets gets people jumping off the walls. Frankly, it’s music to lose your shit to.  

He has been DJing for 10 years - previously he was resident DJ at funk and hip-hop night Delicatessen in Leamington, UK with DJ Rob Smith from 2004 - 2007 and he presented the Deli Radio Show on Raw FM and ran A Finger of Funk, a pure funk night.

In London he was part of the Fabulous Las Vegas night in Shoreditch with DJ Hoop and he ran Funk In My Space in Brixton from 2008 - 2010 with Jimmy Clanfield, whom he met playing the violin in a rebellious youth orchestra.

The Correspondents consist of singer Mr Bruce and producer Chucks. Both growing up in South London, they formed in 2007 and within two years had taken their hi-octane genre-blending dance music from house parties to festival main stages. 

The show that quickly established the duo as one of the best live acts in the UK (The Telegraph's top 10 Highlights of Glastonbury in two consecutive years) has the monochrome clad Mr Bruce singing with force, scatting at speed and dancing like his life depends on it while Chucks takes the audience on a journey through a multitude of genres from jazz and blues to the nether regions of electro and drum’n’bass. 

Their music releases are just as varied in style and influence. Steve Lamaq says of their 2014 album Puppet Loosely Strung that "Every time I think I've deduced what they sound like they start sounding like something different". 2016 will see a flurry of new releases in the build up to their next album with the same smorgasbord of dancefloor friendly musical treats.

Aside from the music itself The Correspondents have become renowned for their videos that are consistently unique in aesthetic and pioneering in technique. The band are renound for making videos created by in-camera, hand made and analogue processes. These range from meticulously hand drawn animations by Mr Bruce himself or collaborations with Naren Wilks who invented a 'composite camera' technique to describe a space in which synchronised multiples exist in a rotationally symmetric, kaleidoscopic dimension! It won them a UK Music Video Award and Best Production at The Berlin Music Video Awards. 

Recent developments have seen the duo expanding their live show to a include a full band with drummer, bassist and organist. And they have teamed up once again with director Naren Wilks to produce a mind-blowing composite camera audio-visual show. 





Supatronix is the London based breakbeat club night now in its 7th year.
  
  During this time Supatronix has played host to the likes of: Freestylers, Stanton Warriors, Rennie Pilgrim, Freq Nasty, Hybrid and Future Funk Squad to name but a few.
  
  Now entering the world of digital music Supatronix Records aims to keep breakbeat broken and push new talent, while supporting the remixing skills of some of the scene's more established names.
  
  With each release aimed squarely at the dance floor and a strong presence in the scene, this is a label set for big things.
