Short info: Running Back’s 50th anniversary comes courtesy of Redshape. After his utilitarian Bonuz Beatz effort earlier this year, the masked man is back on the monolithic techno tip. Graced with a sense of tradition and a modern stlye of execution, “Leaves” is the sort of warehouse rave signal that exceeds the sole purpose of a tool. Speaking of which, it comes in two different mixes to choose from accompanied by two unclothed versions for the creative DJ mind.

Live from the Patio – John Talabot

Its a warm Sunday evening in Wales and XDB is doing his thing on the stage outside which as per usual is inspiring. As 20:30 appraoches I make my way into room 3 where I'll be making my 3rd Freero appearance as a DJ and the nerves kick in a little. I greet the staff on production, set myself up and do a soundcheck. 

All is well but also all the feelings of an imminent pre-gig mindset of a DJ start to surface which is to be expected as this is one of the best festivals in the UK, and not to mention the last time I played in this room I closed up shop after Jennifer Mayanja which was challenging due to the heatwave we had that weekend which caused the equipment to overheat. 

In any case this is a fresh slate and I am ready to go. I am opening up proceedings before Leah Floyeurs & Alex Downey whom are both great DJs... so again no pressure right? 

The brief from Steevio was pretty simple... keep it Deep/Soulful and Jazzy so I did my best to stay within those parameters over the 1 hour and 45 min I had been given. 

The time whizzed by and I thoroughly enjoyed every min of playing in that room building it up & seeing the people getting lost in the music.

Jane Fitz took the stage twice with a B2B set this at rural 2024, and she appeared on the final day with her musical partner Jade Seatle, who co-hosts the DIY party “Night Moves” in their home, London. The final day started out rainy, but ended up with sunny skies. This set was deeply connected with such a dramatic ending. Enjoy this euphoric collection of left-field tech house gems.

If Marie is not in the DJ booth spinning records, you most likely find her on the floor. Though highly respected by her fellow jockeys for her mixing style and impeccable skill at that, she's a fan first and a club kid at heart - which seems to be a major reason for her ability to immediately connect with different kinds of crowds in various settings. As a DJ, Marie is known for her dynamic and engaging sets, which seamlessly blend together different styles of house music. Her performances have taken her to some of the most prestigious festivals, including FUSION, GARBICZ or NACHTIVILLE and Clubs like Frankfurt's ROBERT JOHNSON, Hamburg's PUDEL or Berlin's HEIDEGLÜHEN, to name just a few.

Three hours of high drama, recorded live at Nowadays in New York.

We know what you're thinking: why did it take so long to get Binh on the RA Podcast? There's no easy answer, especially given that he's been a favourite of ours for over a decade now. So to make up for lost time, the revered digger lands on the series with a tantalising three-hour mix, recorded live at Nowadays in New York earlier this year.

Crammed with rare and unreleased gems spanning house, techno, and electro, RA.989 is heavy on drama, catching the Düsseldorf native in unbridled performance mode.

This is Binh in 2025. But rewind across the past two decades and you'll find a DJ who excels in pretty much any situation, whether warming up for Zip or Margaret Dygas, going back-to-back with masters like Nicolas Lutz or rolling out solo sets that stretch across ten or even 12 hours.

He's acted out all these scenarios most often at Berlin institution Club der Visionaere, the cosy canalside club that became a kind-of spiritual home. (He'd sometimes spend every night of the week there, before parenting duties got the better of him.)

To play for half a day you need a lot of records, and the backbone of Binh's craft has long been a freakish passion for vinyl. Along with Lutz, Vera, and others in CDV's orbit, he approaches the pursuit of wax, new and old, with next-level dedication and a fondness for blind buys. 

That's true of RA.989, although among the un-Shazamables are many tracks that are either out or coming out on Binh's popular Time Passages label. The mix finds him on a house-y tip, luxuriating in roomy basslines, driving 303s and twinkly melodies—with just the right amount of evil. Lock in and savour a one-of-a-kind DJ, completely in the zone.
