Tirelessly pushing the boundaries of techno as we know it, the British don has been carving out his name in gold letters amongst the pantheon of DJs capable to evolve and transcend both themselves and their audience through the cathartic power of music. Always a step ahead, Bicknell treats us to two hours of resolutely immersive and achingly powerful soul-search, seamlessly criss-crossing our brains with his top-of-the-range anti-bullshit techno medicine. To mark the upcoming release "Several Streams of Thought" - Steve Bicknell [@steve-bicknell] new album, due out on May 9th on double vinyl, with a limited edition including a 7-inch, KR3 joins forces with the British producer to deliver a mix that shares the album's title, capturing its spirit and essence.

This journey chronicles Bicknell's decades-long exploration of electronic music, reflecting his deep roots as a collector, DJ, and producer. Drawing from a wide palette of tones and inspirations, it offers a raw and honest snapshot of his constantly evolving sonic identity.

Over the course of 75 minutes, the mix shifts from bright atmospheres to textures of pure power, ultimately entering a dark, low-ceilinged tunnel before reappearing in blinding white, taking a deep breath, and continuing. 

It’s an intricate processing of various dimensions, featuring exclusive unreleased tracks from the 2x12" and 7" editions of the album.

EPM.193 comes from JAK. Jack Coleman (JAK) is a pioneer of the Pacific Northwest U.S. techno scene, recognized as a prolific artist, producer, label boss, event organizer and community builder. As a producer, JAK has released more than 150 original tracks and remixes on labels like Northern Parallels, Trapez, Illegal Alien, and his own imprint, SubSensory Recordings. Now the revered producer and DJ joins the EPM Mix series, taking us into a dub-techno reverie. “As we enter the Pacific Northwest’s long gray and rainy season, I wanted to present something deeper and more introspective than my norm. This 83-minute mix, recorded in my Portland, Oregon studio, features a blend of dub techno and deeper techno sounds, recent finds and older selections and a few gems from my SubSensory label’s past and present.”

Over two-plus decades as a DJ, JAK has shared the stage with acts like DVS1, DJ Nobu, Richie Hawtin, Zenker Brothers, and Josh Wink. He’s performed ex-tensively in Portland and Seattle, and further afield in locales like Detroit, Min-neapolis, LA, SF, Tokyo, Vancouver, BC, and Santiago de Chile.

His D.Vices moniker, launched in 2021, has landed multiple #1 sellers in Beatport’s electro category. Beyond his work as an artist, JAK’s SubSensory event series and label, along with several online #PDXTechno communities, have helped shape the thriving techno scene that exists in Portland today.

SubSensory’s 127th release features the modern, dub techno-inspired sounds of Justin Neal’s Refractions EP, with a remix by UK producer Sergio Vilas.
