Some points discussed during this Khuṭbah:

– Ḥadīth regarding the Speech of Allāh on the Day of Judgment, to the one who will have the least punishment in the hell fire.
– The importance of At-Tawḥīd and it being the path to salvation.
– {And those who did wrong, if they had all that is in earth and as much again, verily, they would offer it to ransom themselves therewith on the Day of Resurrection from the evil torment, and there will become apparent to them from Allāh, what they had not been reckoning} [Surah Az-Zumar:39].
– Ḥadīth of Anas ibn Mālik رضي الله عنه: The Messenger ﷺ narrates that the disbeliever on the Day of Judgement will be asked if he would ransom gold the equivalent of this earth…
– The importance of being firm upon the straight path.
– Giving importance to our perfect and complete religion.
– Do not let shaytān deceive you and despair in the mercy of Allāh.
– This dunyā, worldly life will perish and expire.
– The one who was given the riches and the pleasures of this world.
– “Verily the sweetness of this world will be bitterness on the Day of Judgement. And the bitterness of this world will be sweetness on the Day of Judgement.”

10 Reasons That Prevent a Person From Implementing Their Knowledge— Uways At-Ṭaweel 

- A warning against not acting in accordance to one’s knowledge.  
- Statements from al-Khaṭīb al-Baghdādī, Sahl at-Tustarī and Fuḍayl b. ‘Iyāḍ (رحمهم الله) on acting upon one’s knowledge. 
- Ten barriers in implementing the knowledge Allāh has blessed us with:
- 1. Not knowing that knowledge is for the betterment of the individual and is a delight and happiness.
- The great reward for those who implemented their knowledge. 
- Statements from Sahl b. ‘Abdillāh, an-Naḍr b. Shumayl, Abūl-Qāsim al-Junayd and Aḥmad b. ‘Aṭā’ ar-Rūdhabārī (رحمهم الله) regarding the fruits and essence of knowledge. 
- 2. The heart does not deserve to have it.
- The home of knowledge.
- Examples from the Qur’ān regarding the heart that does not accept or implement knowledge. 
- The three types of hearts. 
- The two avenues to the heart. 
- As-Sa’dī (رحمه الله) on the meaning of ‘fiqh’.
- Ibn Kathīr (رحمه الله) on the verse, “…They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear…” [Sūrah al-A’rāf 7:179] 
- Ḥasan al-Baṣrī (رحمه الله) on the four signs of sorrow. 
- Imām Mālik (رحمه الله) on the punishment of having a hard heart. 
- 3. Destructive envy and arrogance.
- How arrogance and envy lead Iblīs to sins, the Yahūd to reject the Messenger ﷺ, and prevented ‘Abdullāh b. Ubayy and Abū Jahl from embracing Islām. 
- 4. [Fear of jeopardising one’s] position and status.
- The example of Hiraql and Fir’awn in this regard. 
- Abūl-Wafā’ ‘Alī b. ‘Aqīl al-Ḥanbalī (رحمه الله) on harmful distractions that lead to a person’s downfall.

- Al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Rajab’s (رحمه الله) definition of desires.  
- Abūl-Mudhaffar as-Sam’ānī (رحمه الله) on those who gave precedence to their desires over the revelation. 
- The example of the poet al-A’shā and how he died upon disbelief due to giving precedence to his desires. 
- The four pillars of all despicable characteristics.  
- Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) on how following desires diverts a person from the primary objective. 
- 6. Excessive love for your family, relatives and tribes.
- The obligation of giving precedence to love of the Messenger ﷺ. 
- 7. Loving your country and homeland. 
- A warning against giving precedence to one’s tribe or homeland over fleeing to Allāh and obeying the Messenger ﷺ. 
- 8. The doubt that following Islām is disparagement and disrespect directed at your parents and forefathers.
- How this caused Abū Ṭālib to die upon disbelief despite knowing the Messenger ﷺ was upon the truth. 
- Lines of poetry composed by Abū Ṭālib expressing what prevented him from following the Messenger ﷺ. 
- 9. Your enemy is a follower of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. 
- Why loving and hating has to be for the sake of Allāh (عز وجل).
- The Jews’ refusal to accept Islām due to their enmity for the Anṣār. 
- 10. Familiarity, habit and upbringing.
- A warning against allowing our upbringing to overwhelm our knowledge and prevent us from acting upon it.

     قُولُوۤا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَیۡنَا وَمَاۤ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰۤ إِبۡرَ ٰ⁠هِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَـٰعِیلَ وَإِسۡحَـٰقَ وَیَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَاۤ أُوتِیَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِیسَىٰ وَمَاۤ أُوتِیَ ٱلنَّبِیُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَیۡنَ أَحَدࣲ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ

Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and 'Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam)." [Al-Baqarah, Ayah 136]

فَإِنۡ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمِثۡلِ مَاۤ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهۡتَدَوا۟ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوۡا۟ فَإِنَّمَا هُمۡ فِی شِقَاقࣲۖ فَسَیَكۡفِیكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِیعُ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ﴿ ١٣٧ ﴾

So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. [Al-Baqarah, Ayah 137]

All of the prophets called to the worship of Allāh alone. 
The characteristics of the believers. 
The purpose of creation. 
Those whom Allāh guides to Islām. 
How does Allāh open a person’s heart to correct guidance?
The touching story of ‘Amr ibn Al-Ās embracing Islam. 
The weight of responsibility and authority. 
The virtue of those who enter Islam. 
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلࣰا صَـٰلِحࣰا فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُ سَیِّـَٔاتِهِمۡ حَسَنَـٰتࣲۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣰا رَّحِیمࣰا﴿ ٧٠ ﴾

Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful
  [Surah Al-Furqān: 70]
