One day on vacation I watched documentary about K2 climbers, Karakoram 8,611 meters. Rough, cold, thin air. Indeed, 1 out 4 mountaineers lose their lives to the deadliest mountain of all. Stunningly most of them _after_ reaching the summit of their dreams....

Fully made on Roland VerseLab MV-1 (sold it by now to fund analogue gear). Though kept few tracks which this handy standalone helped to capture emotion on a spot. Mastered with UAD Oxide Tape, IK One, and FabFilters. As always the new and a dozen other tracks are downloadable on my accounts, thanks!

Headlights sliced through the inky black, the familiar highway a tempting blur. But tonight, a different rhythm pulsed. A turn onto a forgotten road, dust kicking up like whispered secrets. Stars, a million pinpricks, replaced the harsh glare of streetlights. Crickets chirped a lullaby, the engine a gentle hum. Miles stretched, not towards a destination, but towards a quietude the highway couldn't offer. The long way home, bathed in moonlight, a journey for the soul.

Shut Down

Firstly on easy listening 6/4 bars, I cut some notes out of the main theme so as to give it dynamism, and finally obtained a prime amalgam of 17 quarter notes. I hid any recognizable thing in the accompaniment, and for the organic lines (voice and guitars) I tried the strong rhythm would not fix too much the melodies, first paying a lot of attention, and finally ... just letting me go.

Translated lyrics:
