The initial spark of creativity resides deep within us like a seed, waiting for water and warmth before germinating into a floral wonder. Our next guest is a rather fine gardener in this sense, having cut his teeth for 10 years in the Berlin underground before flourishing into the internationally renowned artist he is today. At this point, Rødhåd is an artist who hardly needs an introduction. Launching his party series-turned-label Dystopian in 2009, he undoubtedly helped facilitate the musical landscape of modern-day Berlin with his uncompromising vision of techno. Known for his infectious smile and ginger personality, he has won many hearts and minds with his selections and productions ever since his humble beginnings. 

With his new label, WSNWG, he has entered a new chapter of collaborative synergy and fluid audio-visual exploration, releasing his first full-length ambient album MOOD as well as tracks with Ø [PHASE], Lady Starlight, and Antigone among others. It is in this spirit that we have asked him for a contribution to Unrush, and his mix does not disappoint. Clocking in at just over an hour, it takes us through sweeping valleys of sound, whispers of content, and everything in between. It is Monday the 3rd of February 2014 and we have DJ Red for the first time on the CLR Podcast. Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Simona Calvani p.k.a. DJ Red has been a resident for the Ultrabeat nights at Rome´s most important dance venue Goa club for the last 13 years. In 2012 she joined the BPitch Control artist roster and released her first record “Eyes Are Blind” on the BPitch Control label. Her mantra “creation is the source of energy” underpins the importance of the relationship between artist and public. Her innovative DJ style is characterized by Techno-Dub influences, dark and deep sounds. There is a big black heart in Barcelona that it is still beating. Three weeks later, we’re still digesting the magic that was the fourth edition of Mostra festival. From the most intimate listening moments to collective catharsis on the dancefloor, this year was something else.

Starting from the end this year, we’re proud to present the recorded closing set from Mostra's resident ABSIS, who delivered a deeply emotional finale that distilled everything Mostra stands for: a blend of force, finesse, energy and passion — all woven into one.

Across four editions, countless moments, different days and stages, ABSIS has always been there: reading the different dance floors, adapting, connecting the dots between sound and feelings. Being a resident is more than just playing; it’s embodying the festival’s pulse, giving it identity and continuity, and raising the collective experience to another level.

If you’ve journeyed with Mostra through the years, you know how central ABSIS (alongside Timnah and Patrick Russell) has been to shaping that Mostra spirit. If you haven’t yet, you may find the chance next year.

And now, for the first time: ABSIS closing the festival. A powerful tribute to what it means to support the local scene, not just by listing names from the city, but by creating moments like this one that matters.
