Hello again Listeners,

 Hope I'm not overloading you, but here's another of our recent 
 ambient/contemporary classical improvs. I have several weeks of 
 recordings i'm going though and just wish to share the best.

 Far from virtuosity, we seem to discover the 'Feels' and 'Flows' that 
 organically emerge from our musical conversations.
 
 And btw... this is an Homage to All who have found their way.

Finding a Way

This song began with Stephen, who recorded it on his acoustic guitar and bass to a programmed drum track a few months ago. We were all thrilled to work on it, even though it sat in BandLab as a project for almost a month before Stephen separated the tracks, thus allowing us to trickle in our parts. JJ was first to jump on it, because he could before the tracks were separated, as his part is completely his idea. He added the organ that really set up the entire sound of both dominant sections of the song. 

  Ken was first up to the project once the tracks were replaceable, making the wild, driving beat his own. Inspired by both JPJ and Michael Ivins, Josh laid down his bass line, trying to match Ken's energy. Last, but not least, Mark jumped in with the rumbling timpani. He also added the flavorful harmonica, and unique jaw harp you hear throughout, as well. Finally, Mark added the hambone percussion at the end of the song, too, which we all consider a treat.

Stephen wasn't done with it, though, and still had some magic to sprinkle. He went in and added the howling electric guitar you hear prominently in the second main section. Also, he added the tempting intro with his acoustic guitar and electric mandolin that looks like a Telecaster guitar. 

  Once it was in the bag, we thought it appropriate for our master mixer Stephen to put it to bed, which he did in his always expert manner. Mark did help with the production, though, as he's very good with editing and spotting mistakes that need to be corrected.

  This is a gift from Stephen to all of us, and you, too. It to
ok a lot of teamwork to make the dream work, as always for Eclectic Collective. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

A piano song that I recorded on January 31, 2025. While I have goofed around with piano in my life, I have never ever recorded a track by myself. I just put my cell phone using GarageBand, on my upright piano, and pushed record! I hadn’t even touched the piano in about five years! I sent this over to my awesome online band, Eclectic Collective. They were more than enthusiastic to add some orchestration.! it definitely falls in the classical/rock category! January Epiphany-Solo Piano version

This song began on the last day of the cold January of this year, when Ken sat down at his piano and recorded an improvisational jam. This is the first song Eclectic Collective has done where Ken started it with a piano, so we were all very excited to work on it. 
  Josh was the first one to add a part, adding his fretless bass guitar, and going back and forth with Ken, while he added the drums to match the groove up right. Josh also added the mandolin after the guitars were laid down, as well as the descending synth blasts you hear throughout. Before all that, though, Stephen recorded the half of the thrilling guitar you hear in there. After Stephen had his part down, Tez came along and finished the guitar work. Last, but certainly not least, Mark added the amazing symphonic elements, specifically the horns and flute you hear in there. He also added the cold January wind, represented by his breath and some tinkling bells. 
  Once it was all wrapped up, we asked Stephen to put a bow on it with his expert production, which he came through with, as always.
  As mentioned, this is an extraordinary offering from EC, staring Ken not only on drums, but on the keys, as well. It felt like we were jamming all together in the same room, and hope it comes across that way. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

The Other Side remake # 5. It started in 2002. Got adjusted in 2007. Had seperate facelift's to reflect new reality in 2015 & 2024. Now # 5 is truly Alive for The Other Side. Both the Song and me appreciate your time and love ♾️ If art is conscious in a universal sense as it's doing its job of inspiring love, then that appreciation from the piece itself doesn't have to seem misplaced...

It's great to make art... But the sharing bit can truly last and maybe it can actually transcend the artist as an energetic entity. Maybe all art is that after it's created ♾️ (unless souless ai made it)

Notes
Man this feels good. It's like I'm handing a big chuck of myself over and its a good chunck of good in my head.

I pledge to write this song until I die and hopefully that means me making lots and lots of versions of this over the coming decades. It has to be rewritten because this song needs to reflect my reality and that always changes. When the time is right I'll pass it on to another human who I feel will be worthy enough to keep it going for another lifetime.

I wrote this song originally 23 years ago on a two octave Casio keyboard. It was so cheesily amazing. However the beat cheese was 155bpm of high tempo rhythm so when I went to write the lyrics I slowed the gait to try and say what I wanted to say and not sound like a chipmonk.

So today we go back to that gait and we do it without like sounding like a chipmonk and with new relevance for what I see in reality.
This is the result of the first wave of recompiling the idea again from scratch. I'll hone it now...
