What a wonderful tune Seagull sent me to collaborate on.  His nylon-string and bass playing is lovely but he asked if I could help with a second guitar voice.  The Taylor JKSM seemed the perfect fit with its sweet steel-string acoustic voice.  The undercurrent of meaning in the song is best described by Seagull himself:
"The song is called Stairway, and I realized that it reflects everyone's climb in life. We are encouraged and taught from birth that we must constantly get better at everything. Better upbringing, better behavior, better education, better job, better pay, better things, better health, better parent, better home, better car and so on...But what is the real goal of all this striving? Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with education hopefully producing better and more understanding and empathetic people, and a safer and nicer society. But.....and I think it's a big but.... as we are obviously being trained to buy all the happiness we need in life instead of experiencing it in a peaceful, healthy and experiential life." 
It is a question of what is ultimately important in our life and are we willing to make the climb to reach and attain it.  Something to ponder while you listen:)

THE SPIRIT OF THE COVENANT

see i searched out so many covenants in the bible
and i believed in all of them - all the truths in the bible
and so the covenant of covenants - till now i stumbled, upon this...

the spirit of all the covenants; being 'the covenant' of god
where everyone's favorite is john 3:16 => for god so loved the world...
so white and so pure - like all his truthisms - there evident throughout...

and now today, have i - matthew 24:22 => and if those days had not been cut short
no human being would be saved - but for the sake of the elect
those days will be cut short...

and so i wonder - for all god does for us - what's he getting - in return
yes i wonder - in all his proposals he's hinting - what are we giving back
in the deal - in our so-called agreement - or covenant/s...

see noah in his time .......................................................	god has the power
as jonah to nineveh ........................................................	his power to forgive
like moses to his people ..............................................  god knows how to lead us all out
and jesus to the whole world ....................................	through his example : the truth & the way
just like, from  me to you, and you to me...............	all prophets to prophets (empowered by god)

and so, i believe we're to shape up - lest we like and desire to be where we're at...
and so, i believe we're to have 'the wanting spirit' (for betterness) - to be raptured and so get out...
through 'our willing spirit' to comply - given how we've grown to understand...

and so - in john & matthew - like the spirit of god's covenant
is what i see : the covenant - yes one covenant - like a coin being flipped (all truthisms)
ever-alternating, 'pure white & pure black' so fast in the air (the pure gray)
till it comes to rest concealed on the back of my hand
and i cry, it makes no difference...
when they're both the same
when we see the light
and no longer fight
for god is tight
inherently
right
!!!
