Ambient music is a genre of music based on timbre modulation and emphasises atmosphere over traditional musical structure. Contemporary ambient formed several varieties, from the lightest transparent textures to the more rigid and experimental powerfull sound.

Tingle In The Netherlands is an electro-pop collaboration between poet Helên
Thomas and electronic musician Owen J based in Manchester UK. We have been creating music together since 2009.

Musically, others have described our sound as being reminiscent of bands such as Kraftwerk, Ladytron, Chris & Cosey, Severed Heads, Soft Cell, Human League and Vince Clarke. These comparisons reflect many of Owen’s musical influences which would also include bands such as Liaisons Dangereuses, Tuxedomoon, Danielle Dax and YMO. While Owen creates the majority of the music Helên provides most, but not all, of the lyrics as well as contributing some vocal melodies. Although we have performed at Ste McCabe’s Pussywhipped event in Manchester, we consider ourselves to be a studio band so currently do not have any plans to perform live.

Our first EP, ‘Prostitute's Handbag’ was released in 2010 and included a remix, by Atomizer, of the title track. ‘Prostitute's Handbag’ reached number 11 in the Dandelion Radio Festive Fifty 2010, receiving votes for the original version and the Atomizer remix. 

In February 2013 our debut album ‘Why Can’t You Write Something Nice For A Change?’ was released on the Nerve Echo label, and is available to buy from http://www.nerveecho.com, Bandcamp and iTunes.

Jose Macabra, is an artist, sound designer, producer, video director, radio DJ/podcast maker and curator. 

Jose teaches Sound Arts and Music Production at the London College of Communications, UAL and other educational establishments. His work nourishes many influences, from the industrial and noise panoramas, together with a legion of related genres such as ritual and the darker flavours of techno, blended with sound art, soundscape, art brut and experimental music.
 
Jose has worked with and for Kimatica Studio, Persona Collective, Ernesto Tomasini, Ron Athey, HR. Giger, Sally Mann, J. Milo Taylor, Nicola Serra, Christian Duka, Martin Delaney, Eraldo Bernocchi, FFIN DANCE Company, Rum Luck Theatre Company, Persona Collective, UCL, UAL, SAE Institute, HMPPS Belmarsh and Unite the Union, to name a few.

BIOGRAPHY:
As such, it was very much appropriate, that one grey autumn day, back in 1988, lifelong student and author of works in the fields of philosophy and religion, Sinisa ‘’Charlie’’ Ocurscak, gave the name TeHÔM, to his own musical project, which would help him to further express his own research in the philosophy of religion through the medium of music. The dreams of one thus became the dream of many. His unique artistic vision embedded with deep respect, knowledge and a background in diverse cultures, religions and traditions became a foundation stone for other artists to come, in the decades to follow.

Sinisa Ocurscak was a professor of Philosophy at the prestigious ‘’Jesuit College of Philosophy’’ (part of University of Zagreb, Croatia) in Zagreb and editor of the book "The problem of mind and body in contemporary philosophy".  Always at his side, from the early beginnings, as an integral part of TeHÔM stood Miljenko Rajakovic.  Rajakovic himself was the only possible match for the creative genius of Ocurscak with whom he had worked on another project bearing the name Principia Audiomatica; the result was an album with the title ‘’Systematic Sonority’’ for renowned italian label Minus Habens Records.

From its early years on and subsequent release of TeHÔM’s first album ‘’Despiritualisation of Nature’’ in 1996, the project’s patron became no one else than Douglas Pearce, founding member of Death in June. TeHÔM released its first album on Pearce’s own label Twilight Command / New European Recordings sublabel, with steady distribution from World Serpent label. Later after the demise of World Serpent label, Tesco Distribution, took on to become its underground music torchbearer.

Rajakovic was already an accompished sound engineer and DJ and would later become even more renown for founding two record labels. It was this pairing and unity through which Rajakovic assisted Ocurscak to produce the legendary sophomore album ‘’Theriomorphic Spirits’’ which was released 3 years after the sad passing of Sinisa Ocurscak in 1997. The album achieved worldwide acclaim from both music critics and listeners alike thus becoming the cult album of its genre.

TeHÔM was the first ever, Croatian Dark Ambient music project of its time and one of Europe’s mainstays and purveyors in the sophisticated Dark Ambient music scene.  The project was forced into early retirement following the tragic passing of its founder Sinisa Ocurscak who died due to a cancer related illness in 1997..  It is most likely, yet never officially confirmed, that his tragic death was related to Ocurscak’s involvement in the Croatian Homeland War for Independence, where Sinisa was a frontline soldier.

Retirement to the dark depths of Chaos was hard to take for fans and listeners alike.
There was indeed a very long wait, interspersed with a shadow of ominous silence, from its second and now only surviving assisting member Rajakovic, who still under the influence and shock of the death of his fellow friend and colleague, had chosen to retire to isolation. It was a hard cross to bear even for such an accomplished musician, artist and sound engineer as Rajakovic.

"AN UNDENIABLE FORCE HAS BEEN RESURRECTED"

In 2010 after a long period spent in an almost Samadhi like state in his inner refugium, Rajakovic emerged again, revitalized and reborn from the depths of Chaos to unleash his new creation on listeners and fans alike. TeHÔM, yet again was thus reborn from the celestial and primordial sources of Chaos, with all its powers, ready to unleash their new aural output on us.

The project which has been dormant for many years was finally revived and resurrected, more than a decade later, with a new 3rd album "Lacrimae Mundi" released by respected music connoisseur label Cyclic Law Records, in May 2014.  A very surreal, obscure, and cinematic-sounding opus has been created by Rajakovic following closely in the footsteps of previous works yet taking the project to new levels.

TeHÔM is now back after a long silence. The eternal Abyss is awoken once again, as the primordial flood of Chaos awaits to penetrate the innermost parts of your soul.

TeHôM, a Hebrew word signifying primeval waters over which darkness was superimposed. It characterizes chaos materially as a watery primeval element, but at the same time gives a dimensional association, "sea of chaos" or cosmic abyss. This Hebrew word for primeval flood probably has a linguistic affinity with Tiamat, the Babylonian dragon of chaos. Symbolically, TeHôM responds to the Babylonian concept of APSU, which also signifies precreational waters of chaos. APSU and TeHôM are symbols of aquatic chaos, a shapeless modality of cosmic matter and the world of the dead, everything that precedes life and follows after it. TeHôM signifies a state of virtual existence, it is the "materia prima" in the sense of pure potential (potentia pura). Also it is the matriarchal pre-world overtaken by male patriarchy.

TeHôM further points to a collective unconscious whose amorphous structure was projected through first cosmogony myths into the outer world as an archetype of primordial water, an undifferentiated state, out of which merges a world, i.e. conscious ego, under which TeHôM (or the unconscious) always remains as an immense stratum. Mr. Gerhard Von Rad says about it: "Man has always suspected that behind all creation lies the abyss of formlessness; that all creation is ready to sink into the abyss of the formless; that the chaos, therefore, signifies simply the threat to everything created." But this dangerous side of the story does not cover the whole dimension of TeHôM, because TeHôM is dark and perilous depth of everything existing, but also the creative potential of limitless power. Daring to enter TeHôM i.e. Tiamat and kill the beast, as Marduk did in the Babylonian myth of creation, signifies the individuals' courage and wisdom to face all of the negative contentswhich bind his being.

Anneke van Giersbergen is a Dutch singer-songwriter, known for her serene yet powerful voice, musical versatility, and captivating stage presence.

Her new album will be titled La Vie, La Mort, L’Amour - French for ‘Life, Death, Love’. This collection of songs will be released as a trilogy. The first EP, La Vie, will be available digitally on February 28.

Anneke comments: “I wrote these songs shortly after the passing of both of my parents and I brought my 8-piece live band into the studio to record them. Last year, I was confronted with some of life’s biggest questions and the doubt that came with my loss. These songs reflect my emotions and thoughts during that challenging time. Musically, I was inspired by the sounds of the '80s and '90s, the music that shaped my youth.”

In 2026, the three EPs will come together to form a full-length album. The release of the third EP will coincide with a physical version containing all the songs, available as a CD Digipak and Gatefold LP.

After thirteen years as the frontwoman for melancholic metallers The Gathering, Anneke ventured out on her own in 2007. Since then, her creativity has known no bounds. She quickly established a successful solo career, while also collaborating frequently with Canadian metal genius Devin Townsend and Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen. Additionally, Anneke has lent her voice to a diverse range of artists, including Napalm Death, Icelandic folk group Árstíðir, Amorphis, and prog legend John Wetton.

In 2019, the Dutch music copyright organization Buma Cultuur honored Anneke with the Buma ROCKS! Export Award, recognizing her as one of the most prominent Dutch artists abroad in heavy music.

The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest, Anneke's 23rd career album, was released in 2021. This deeply personal record captivated her fans once again.

The five reunion concerts that she will perform in August 2025 with her former band, The Gathering, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the classic album Mandylion, sold out within minutes.
