Into The Night

Purity

Suffocated by my dreams terrorized by my life. 

Conversations in my mind creep through secret tunnels, stepping out into the light of open spaces. 

I feel the blood draining from my face, as I hear whispers of denial from pristine cages mingling with homeless mothers. 

Who loved the day and pray for another. 

The dying embers of freedom colors are fading into the blackest of nights. 

Walking through shadows that leave the mist of time, my fingers are holding fragment of what’s left of my life


My Dear

An epilogue to the human race. Why do we so firmly believe that our species will survive? Over 99% of species that roamed the earth in the course of the past 4 billion years have vanished again. We only know of them, when we examine the fossile record. So, chances are (unfortunately) very high, that also we will become extinct some time and our memories are only preserved in the depths of the earth. 
Also, the Fermi Paradox (see, e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNhhvQGsMEc) leaves us puzzled why we see no other forms of life in the universe. 
Let us not get extinct! (and, on a personal note, I think, the  travelling to Mars is not exactly the solution to ensure the survival of our species. Rather, it is, not ruining our wonderful home planet)

Compositionwise, the piece is structured in four parts. 
Part 1, introduces the lamenting theme, first in a very basic relaxed fashion with slow accompaniment and then becoming a tad more agitated. The chromatically descending accompaniment underlines the mournful mood. The second half of the part starting @0:24 is a bit more consoling but keeps the overall spirit. The other three parts (starting @ 0:48, 1:31, 2:15) are variations of the main theme with the last part leading @2:40 into the end that leaves more questions than answers)

The VST piano used for this recording was the Nils Frahm Noire (not the felt version) which I slightly brightened up to have more of the singing overtones.

This is one of my favorite poems, written by William Allingham in 1805 "Up The Airy Mountain", I wanted to bring a fresh listen to it. 

Up the airy mountain,
Down the rushy glen,
We daren’t go a-hunting
For fear of little men;
Wee folk, good folk,

Green jacket, red cap,

Down along the rocky shore
Some make their home,
They live on crispy pancakes

WRITING ON THE WALL ft various Artists

March is such a "two-faced" month in the northern latitudes, it can caress with a kiss of sunlit warmth, or slap the face with high winds and freezing temperatures--maybe in the same day!  It is so fickle these "ides of March" which Shakespeare told us to beware of.  The mood and playing of this song came upon me like one of those Ides, riffing on something much more mellow, when I randomly strummed an E major chord, then again with more force, then faster, stronger...I had to capture the moment, but like March weather, you can't be angry all the time, and so the caress of the Cordoba nylon. You might ask what the mellow riffing sounded like I was first practicing on--wait for it:)

I think you may like this , a Gaz Brownie brainwave ( where he gets his ideas from I do not know ! ) Made it into a cracking Alternative Rock song this may be our best yet ! Next up is a lovely Pop Ballad with Kim , then a super track with Dave Cooper ( if I can get SC to distribute it despite excuses not to ! ) It does my head in to be honest ! After that is a belter me and Kim did with Skippy ( Mary Augustson )

Blindsided My Dear
