When you’re brainstorming ideas for album covers, you never really think they might involve placing yourselves in the middle of a road as traffic bears down on you.  However, that is precisely what we did.
Now I’m not one to tell tales but it was all Gal’s fault.  He thought our front cover  should feature an image of the entire band, which was quite compelling aside from the fact that we lived in London, Hans in Hamburg and have in reality never met.  But Gal had a mate called Dan (who lives in Norfolk, hence the title), a professional photographer whose comprehensive knowledge of Photoshop could bring the three of us together.
We’d always loved the pre-fame, Astrid Kirchherr portraits of The Beatles, taken during their club-playing, Hamburg days and two of these became our template - in focus subject occupying the foreground, covert and blurred figure (in our case, 2  figures) in the distance.
And so it was that, armed with a pin-sharp shot of Hans, we met with Dan to photograph the background scene which, as outlined previously, was in the middle of a busy side road.  Camera in hand, Dan teetered on a plastic crate as Gal and me  dodged back and forth to avoid a plethora of oncoming vehicles - everything from lorries to mobility scooters - who were, on the whole, very accommodating in the circumstances. Some even smiled and waved - at least I think that’s what they were doing…
We owe Dan so much, not only for his consummate skills and kindness but also for laying his life on the line in the name of art.  This song is for him.  (Terry Reeves)

"Quiver" by Lola Demo is another dark, edgy anthem, disguised in a melodic weave of guitars and bass that dives deep into the psyche of  someone caught in the web of a toxic, all-consuming relationship. The song pulses with a moody, hypnotic energy, driven by a throbbing bass line that feels like the heartbeat of emotional turmoil. The lyrics paint a picture of mental spirals and unrest, with the repeated line "you are in my head" serving as a haunting mantra, echoing the sense of being trapped in an inescapable loop.
The verses are raw and confrontational, capturing the unsettling tension between reality and illusion. Lines like "don’t know if they are dead or alive" and "must be something I was fed" suggest a deep suspicion, as if Lola Demo is questioning everything she’s been told and everything she feels. The eerie disillusionment grows with each beat, the bass line amplifying the slow descent into a mind that's been tampered with.
In the chorus, Lola Demo brings in her unmistakable harmonies, something she has purposefully avoided in her recent tracks, but here they come full forward. The chorus hits with a heavy dose of melancholy and melody. The repetition of "so unlucky, unlucky, unlucky" paired with "quiver, I shiver, I try not to let it show" gives the song a visceral edge, as if she’s trying to shake off the cold grip of a haunting memory but can’t quite break free. Lola Demo’s harmonies amplify the emotional intensity, adding layers of depth and complexity to the haunting atmosphere of the song.
As the track builds, the intensity ramps up, with the explosive line "30 seconds to explode" signaling a breaking point—a moment where everything threatens to come undone. It’s raw, it’s vulnerable, but it’s also defiant, with the relentless bass line pushing the song forward even in the face of collapse.
"Quiver" - Is this a raw, autobiographical reflection of Lola Demo's own emotional turmoil, or is it a dark narrative about someone else entirely? Either way, it’s cool, and unapologetically real.
